Legal and ethical issues

Legal
Copyright: copyright is the first legal issue and it is a law that defines a piece of intellectual
property to a person or group, it will protect them from other people trying to use their
ideas without permission. The law exists because it was designed to stop other people from
stealing other ideas, without the law then no one’s creations would be protected. For my
own specific scenario I am creating a poster and leaflet, to avoid copyright I have created my
own graphic and texts. The types of punishments that are given from breaking the copyright
law are mostly heavy fines, although sometimes it can lead up to ten year of imprisonment
or an unlimited fine. The steps that I will take to ensure that I don’t break this law will be
very simple. In order to not copy anyone else’s product, I will just create my own assets.
Work can be marked with the © but this will not affect the amount of protection you have it
will just notify people its protected.
Data protection act: the data protection act is guideline rules that must be followed which
are governed on how you obtain any personal data as well as how you store it. If any data
about individuals is collected whilst creating a product then the data protection act must
followed otherwise punishments will be faced. The reason this law exists is to protect
anyones personal data whilst they are
