CHAPTER 1

The Problem

Introduction

Every student has a phone, and just about All of

them are smartphones, which makes accessing social

media sites that much easier to access due to the

amount of time teenagers, and young people in general,

spend on their phones, and undeveloped sense of

judgement, and the distraction phones, provids social

media is detrimental to a senior high school grades.

Students live should be centered around learning good

habits, studying and gaining more knowledge to prepare

them for a life without their parents but in today

world. This learning process is often deviation by the

play of social media.

Overuse of social media can slow down the

learning process and can effect students grades in a

negative way. Studies have shown that learning process

and can also effect to the behavior of students. Social

media is addictive, and becoming addicted to social

media can cause bad habits. Social media sites have

become indispensable tools in education, marketing and

communication social media play an important role in

every student's life it is often easier and more


convenient to access information, provide information,

and communicate via social media tutors and students

can be communicated to each other and can make good use

of this platforms for the benefit of their learning and

teaching. Students are more connected than even before

through social media, especially during this difficult

times, when they are physically distance from their

family, friends and pairs. While social media provide

many benefits, such as giving students the chance to

express themselves creatively learning opportunities,

and the chance to connect with others, social media can

also have a negative impact on students, both

physically and mentally it is easy to become addicted

and research show that students who spend too much time

on social media can suffer from poor sleep, eye

fatigue, negative body image, depression, anxiety,

cyber bullying and more.

Educators and parents need to be mindful of the

effect of social media can have on the children in

their care on guard part of the netsweepers platforms

can filter and block harmful content on social media

websites and alert educators to students who are

engaging with harmful content online

Background of the Study


Technology is a crucial part in human life

technology contributes its advantages and disadvantages

in every aspect and human activity technology is

derived from the Greek word "techno" which means the

willingness, skills knowledge of the way rules, tools

and logos which means science word, learning and metal

state (stosic 2015) many research findings show the

positive effects of using technology one of them is in

the field of education technology has a big role in

building the quality of education fatimah and santiana

(2017) argued that as the latest instructional media in

this globalization era, technology contributes good

benefits in the education sector especially in teaching

and learning process such as helps the students to hare

new authentic and meaningful learning experiences

provides more fun and effective learning atmosphere to

engage their efforts and behavior allows the students

to work collaboratively and easily access the

information that can increase their learning

experiences.
