About IMS NOIDA - BEBAAK

BEBAAK – The IMS Debating Society was formed in 2019 in order to provide a platform to the
budding debaters of IMS Noida to show and grow their speaking skills and expertise, to learn and
guide each other through the nuances of public speaking and to make certain that the students of
IMS Noida are able to hoist the IMS flag high in all sorts of University, National & International level
Debates, Youth Parliaments, Public Speaking competitions etc.

Since its inception, BEBAAK has paved the way for the younger generation of debaters in IMS Noida
and acted as an intermediary between students and their success in debating competitions, not only
in physical competitions but in online ones during the lockdown as well. In the short span of its
existence, BEBAAK has been determined enough to bring home 150+ laurels in the form of
accolades won in various competitions all over India, including an international debate as well.
The members of the society have taken part in hundreds of competitions throughout the debating
scene. Mr Manish Jha,an active Bebaak member has won almost 120 National and University level
competitions across India.

The debaters who utilize the platform of BEBAAK never leave any stone unturned in bringing laurels
and glory to the name of IMS Noida. Within the debating circuit as well, the name of BEBAAK and
IMS NOIDA stands in extremely high regard. All of this has been possible only under the blessings of
Hon’ble President – IMS Noida Shri Rajeev Kumar Gupta & Hon’ble Dean Academics Major Nupur
Gupta.

In order to further cement our standing and make our name known throughout the world, we
humbly submit our proposal to organize, on 28th April 2023 (Friday) ,the 2nd Edition of असीम –
Beyond the Boundaries: 2nd IMS NATIONAL DEBATE COMPETITION 2022.

Rules & Regulations OF ‘BEBAAK' Debating Society

 The BEBAAK Debating Society is open to all the students of IMS Noida.
 Anybody willing to join the society can appear for the Auditions organised by the
BEBAAK Debating Society once every year.
 The members are regularly sent to different universities and cities to attend various
National level competitions & bring laurels to IMS Noida.
 The new members are helped by the senior members through workshops, personal
one to one sessions & training.
 The society regularly conducts the meetings to review the performances of it’s
members.

BEBAAK – the IMS Debating society had organised 1 st edition of ‘असीम – Beyond the

Boundaries’ Internationally in online mode between 20 Aug – 4 Sept 2021 in
which 506 participants from 11 different countries had registered for the
Competition. It was a hugely successful event,few glimpses of the said event are
shared below:

DEBATE COMPETITION 2022

• We propose for the event to be organized at an National level. The associations and
networks BEBAAK has been able to form throughout the years will help in ensuring
ample participation. The Venue for the competition will be IMS Law College
Campus.
• Proposed Date for organizing the event: 24th Feb 2023 . It will be just a day long
event with two Debate rounds,the Preliminary round in the morning (1000-1200hrs)
& the Finals in the afternoon (1400-1600hrs).
• We hope to have the debate be a bi-lingual competition, with English and Hindi
being the two languages contestants could utilize.

Proposed Structure of the Competition

• We plan to have the competition proceed in 2 rounds, in a conventional debating
format encouraging participation in two categories – Team Participation (Maximum
50 Teams) & Individual Participation (maximum 100 Individuals) with separate
prizes in both the categories.
• The tentative rounds would be the Preliminary Rounds and the Finals.
 • We plan to have the Registration fees be ₹100 per individual, and ₹250 per team
(team of 2).

Proposed Budget
 We plan to keep cash prizes as awards for the winners, in order to get the participation of
the greatest of debaters from around the globe, ensuring a glorious, highly competitive and
fierce arena.
 Proposed Budget: ₹60,000
(I)PRIZE MONEY : ₹55,000
 1st Prize (Team Category) : ₹30,000
 2nd Prize (Team Category) : ₹11,000

 1st Prize (Individual Category) : ₹ 10,000

 2nd Prize (Individual Category) : ₹ 3000
 3rd Prize (Individual Category) : ₹ 2000

Kindly note : The Expenditure for SNACKS to the participants will be managed from the
amount we collect as Registration fees. (EXPECTED REGISTRATION FEES AMOUNT: 12,000/-)

With the blessings and support of the respected higher authorities and management, BEBAAK will
make sure to put in each and every possible inch of hard work to make the event a resounding,
astounding, and a grand success, so that the name of IMS NOIDA gets cemented in stone in the
debating circuit throughout the world.

 Students Pan India would know the name of IMS Noida.

 Liaisoning with almost 100 universities across the country.
 The institute will get Digital fame as we plan to publish the Debate notification on
various websites like lawctopus, katcheri etc.
 IMS Noida will also receive attention from Govt of India as we plan to promote the
competition also amongst youth and volunteers associated with Nehru Yuva Kendra
sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs.
