PATIENT DRESS IN

CARDIOVASCULAR SURGERY
OBJETIVE
THE PURPOSE OF KNOWING THIS PROTOCOL IS TO
RECOGNIZE AND GUARANTEE THE PATIENT THAT A
SURGICAL PROCESS WILL BE CARRIED OUT,
PRESERVING STERILITY AND ASEPSIA

Ejercítate
ADULTS
1.Place a sheet under the lower limbs of the
patient.
2. Place leggings to insulate
the feet.

3. Place polyester dressing covering the venous

catheter
central. BEFORE COVERING THE FACE AND SIDES

4. The skin fields are placed in the

following way:
-Two fields 5cm on each side of the
sternal notch.

-two fields diagonally

resting on the field already placed in such a way that it
completely covers the hands

-A field 3cm from the sternal notch towards the neck

-a field 5cm under the appendix

be removed

10. On the right side is fix suction, electrosurgical unit and CO2 system

11. On the left side is fixed arteriovenous line, line for cardioplegia, first suction
of the aortic root, second suction of the pericardium, third suction of left cavities
or free cavities, fourth suction if necessary, according to the complexity of the
surgery or the taste of the surgeon

12. on the upper left side will be the alligator cables for the pacemaker and on
the upper right side the monitoring lines will be fixed
PEDIATRIC
1. The navel is isolated with an adhesive strip, this can be previously
prepared with one of the fields of the clothing package

2. catheters placed in the patient are covered with a sterile dressing

3. two fields are placed on each side diagonally above the sternal notch,
exposing the lateral thorax

4. one field 3 cm from the sternal notch towards the neck and one field
below the xiphoid process

5. a lower saba is placed to cover the lower limbs and a top sheet to
cover the area of anesthesia

6. the IOBAM chest adhesive film is placed in order to isolate the

operating field from moisture and infections

7. the fenestrated field is placed oriented according to its signaling, the

superior, lateral and inferior folds are extended

8. in the upper left part the alligator cables for the pacemaker are fixed
and the monitoring lines are fixed on the right side

9. If necessary infusion of Direct cardioplegia, the team infusion is fixed

on top left

10. The handlebars are placed and the sky lamps are located and
compresses are placed with respect to the incision
