SUBMITTED BY :
YOMESH LAXMIKANT CHOURSIYA
INTRODUCTION OF DEMAT ACCOUNT
The word demat comes form dematerialization. It means the
conversion of one material into another. A demat account is
quite similar to your saving account. Previously, there was an
era when traders had to exchange physical certificates of their
shares.
To overcome this hassle, today all the shares that were stored
in a file format or a physical format now are stored on an
electronic device.

HISTORY OF DEMAT ACCOUNT

To do away this paperwork, India introduced the demat
account system in 1996 for trades on NSE. Today, there’s no
paperwork involved, and physical certificates are no longer
issued. So when you busy shares of Company X, all you get an
entry in electronics form, in your Demat account.
