Children’s Literature

From the name itself, one can identify that this kind of literature is for children,
however, the term is not limited only to that kind of definition. For me, children’s
literature is a powerful tool to develop a child holistically. Although some know that the
said literature was primarily used in improving literacy in terms of reading and writing,
children’s literature can also cater to the new literacies. Children's literature in its varied
forms can encompass stories, ideas, and lessons that can touch young hearts, stir their
minds, and allow them to take actions. Children’s literature is beyond entertainment, it
benefits children in the different aspects of life because they see it as one of their
materials that they can relate to very well. More importantly, children’s literature embeds
values that can help children to be the best versions of themselves.
