PANAGTIGI KWATRO (SHS STRAND DAYS 2023): PAUTOKAY


The PAUTOKAY is a quiz bee that should cater academically inclined students during the five-day PANAGTIGI KWATRO
(SHS STRAND DAYS 2023) running from 23rd of January 2023 (Monday) until 27th of January 2023 (Friday).

AG 1 Each strand should have two (2) groups of three (3) members each as competing representatives and both
groups should compete against each other.
AG 2 A competing member should be absolutely academically excellent and scholastically and civically active and
updated.
AG 3 The PAUTOKAY should be composed of twenty-one (21) categories as bases of the questions to be asked in
the bee.
AG 4 The twenty-one (21) categories of the PAUTOKAY include Arts, Biology, Chemistry, Current International and
Domestic Affairs, Demography, Earth and Space Science, Economics, Entertainment, Formal Logic,
Geography, History, Humanities, Law, Linguistics, Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science,
Psychology, the Philippine Government, and PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College.
AG 5 The bee should be presided by the PAUTOKAY Guide.
AG 6 All questions to be asked in the bee should have their random categories to base the questions from.
AG 7 Before a question is asked, the category should be revealed first.
AG 8 The question should be known by the entrants in two ways.
AG 9 The question should be known by showing it thru a PowerPoint presentation slide.
AG 10 The question should also be known thru the PAUTOKAY Guide by reading the question utmost twice.
AG 11 The PAUTOKAY Guide should ring once a bell that marks the time the entrants begin to write their answers.
AG 12 The entrants should wait for the bell to ring to be gestured before answering.
AG 13 Each entrant should answer using a chalk, a one-eighth (1/8) illustration board, and several tissue papers.
AG 14 The entrants should indicate their respective house names and group numbers at the upper-left of their
one-eighth (1/8) illustration boards.
AG 15 Each round should have a time limit in answering.
AG 16 As soon as the bell is rung again, that should mean that the time for answering is up and the entrants should
raise their illustration boards.
AG 17 In the case of a tie, five (5) additional questions should be asked amongst the tying groups and so on.
AG 18 In the case of a tie, the mechanics for answering should be the same as the normal rounds.
AG 19 There should be three (3) rounds in the whole bee.
AG 20 The Novice, the Proficient, and the Expert rounds should be the three (3) rounds.
AG 21 The Novice round should serve as the elimination round of the bee.
AG 22 The Novice round should have twenty (20) questions.
AG 23 The Novice round should have questions with choices.
AG 24 Each question in the Novice round should allot the entrants fifteen (15) seconds to answer.
AG 25 Each question in the Novice round should be worth three (3) points.
AG 26 The scores accumulated in the Novice round should be totalled.
AG 27 The five (5) highest-scoring groups should proceed to the Proficient round.
AG 28 The other five (5) groups should be eliminated.
AG 29 The Proficient round should have fifteen (15) questions.
AG 30 The Proficient round should have questions without choices.
AG 31 Each question in the Proficient round should allot the entrants thirty (30) seconds to answer.
AG 32 Each question in the Proficient round should be worth five (5) points.
AG 33 The scores accumulated in the Proficient round should be totalled and added to the scores in the Novice
round.
AG 34 The Expert round should have ten (10) questions.
AG 35 The Expert round should have questions without choices.
AG 36 Each question in the Expert round should allot the entrants sixty (60) seconds to answer.
AG 37 Each question in the Expert round should be worth ten (10) points.
AG 38 The scores accumulated in the Expert round should be totalled and added to the scores in the Novice and
Proficient rounds.
AG 39 There should be a golden question after every round.
AG 40 The golden question should serve as the perquisite question in every round.
AG 41 The golden question should double the grade got by a group in a certain round.
AG 42 The golden question should also be based on the categories presented.
AG 43 The category should not be revealed when asking a golden question.
AG 44 There should be only twenty (20) seconds in order for the entrants to answer a golden question.
AG 45 There should be three (3) placements in the determination of the winners.
AG 46 The three (3) placements should be the Champion, the First (1st) Runner-up, and the Second (2nd) Runner-up.
AG 47 The Champion should receive a medal and the others should receive certificates.
