As per the collected data, the question with the highest mean within all
responses is question number six, which asks how social media benefits students.
This question received the highest mean of 4.25, results show that it is High. This
suggests that the majority of Holy Child College of Davao grade 12 students find it
comfortable to use social media since they can readily communicate with others.
While question ten, which explains how social media boosts their social status and
gets them respect among their peers because they have garnered many followers on
other platform, has the lowest mean. This question received the lowest mean of
2.91, result shows that it is low. This shows that most students do not receive
respect from their classmates even though they have a large number of social
media followers.

The overall mean is 3.73, implying that social media has a large benefit
in grade 12 students. This finding is supported by Rithika and Selvaraj’s (2013)
study, which found that students with 69 percent grades are more likely to use
social media, with the total average of students earning 60-80 percent accounting
for 69 percent of the population. Students who earned 60-80% on a test frequently
utilize social networking sites to pass the time. As stated by Kuppuswamy and
Shankar (2010), social media captures learners’ interest before diverting it to non-
educational and improper activities such as pointless conversation. Social media,
on the other hand, teaches students a lesson that they can only learn there. The
reach of social media is vast, and it may assist students in communicating and
learning new skills. Students were benefitted, according to Tartari (2015), since
social media assisted them in improving their communicative skills, collecting
information, strengthening their technical knowledge, and learning how to
successfully use this new technology.
