CHAPTER 1: Introduction
Introduction: 1.1
In this research chapter we will discuss desert Resort, find out historical studies
literary review, goal and conclusion

Historical Background: 1.2

Hotels appeared long ago in the form of khans and developed until 1794 AD From that time until our
time, hotels have been increasing and developing continuously and gradually of all kinds in most
countries of the world, as multiple factors contributed to their increase, the most important of which
are: the population explosion, and the increasing movement of individuals from one place to
,.another thanks to the development and increase of various of transportation types
And the increase in cultural and social awareness among individuals and the increase in the desire to
visit other cities countries and the growth of trade, industry and agriculture which was accompanied
by an increase in the movement of businessmen from one place to another, In addition, the hotel
industry has become, in the current era, an essential pillar of tourism, given that it is an important
source for obtaining foreign exchange necessary for the implementation of comprehensive
development plans. As international statistics indicate that about 32% of the tourist’s income is
spent inside the hotel, and it is also the best way to eliminate unemployment. The hotel industry is
one of the largest industries that generate job opportunities, as it is thus one of the necessary
.requirements for modern civilization

Medieval hospitality: 1.2.2

The Middle Ages period is the beginning of the development of the hotel industry, as that period was
long and accompanied by many economic, commercial and industrial factors and conditions that
affected it greatly, and hotels began to invade large cities and the khans in small towns collapsed.
The most important characteristic of these eras is the development of the primitive khan into a large
.hotel and its spread near places of worship and inside cities. the food

Modern times: 1.2.3

It began on 5 July 1481 when the first train journey organized by Thomas Cook left Leicester
In England, Cook became the first tour operator and went on to organize his trips in partnership with
companies
The railways were running at that time as he was organizing his trips for schoolchildren, Amma

CHAPTER 2: Case Studies & Functional Program
Introduction 2.1
In this research chapter we will discuss desert Resort, find out design principles
of your project, case studies, comparative case studies, function program and conclusion .
Design Principles 2.2
.Will discuss urban principle & architecture principle

Urban principle:2.2.1
.Will discuss location, entrance, movement axis & corridor of resort

location: 2.2.1.1
:Choosing a site that helps the success of a unique desert resort, such as
Choose a location with natural areas that attract tourists to go to .1
The choice of location is easily accessible and close to regional roads .2
.Taking into account the impact of the different climatic factors affecting the site .3

Fig.2.1Mysk Al Bilayer Retreat
