1 GENERAL

1.1 This standard deals with the classification of precast concrete products for constructions and the related terminology
1.2 The precast concrete products are classified by the following criteria:
- shape;
- field of usage;
- reinforcement degree;
- execution place;
- apparent density of the concrete;
- aggregates used in concrete production;
- concrete compacting procedure;
- concrete stiffening process.

2 CLASSIFICATION

2.1 Classification by shape


Considering their shapes, precast concrete products are classified as follows:
- linear precast concrete products;
- surface precast concrete products;
- spatial precast concrete products.

2.2 Classification by the field of usage


Considering the fields of their usage, precast concrete products are classified in accordance with the constructions they
are ment:
- precast concrete products for civil constructions;
- precast concrete products for industrial constructions;
- precast concrete products agro-zootechnical constructions;
- precast concrete products for special constructions (overhead electric lines, water supplies, sewerage, railway
superstructures, bridges, mine works, aerial and underground for telecommunication lines etc.)

2.3 Classification by the reinforcement degree


Considering their reinforcement degree, precast concrete products are classified as follws:

2.3.1 Plain precast concrete products

2.3.2 Precast reinforced concrete steel products:


a) constructive reinforcement;
b) resistance reinforcement.

2.3.3 Precast prestressed concrete products:


a) pre-tensioned reinforcement;
b) post-tensioned reinforcement.

2.4 Classification by the execution place

Considering their execution place, precast concrete products are classified as follows:
- precast concrete products made in factories;
- precast concrete products made in special units administrated by construction sites;
- precast concrete products made on construction sites.

2.5 Classification by the apparent density of the concrete

2.5.1 Considering the apparent density of the concrete used in their production them, precast products are classified
in:
- precast products made of extra-heavy concrete (over 2500 kg/m3);
- precast products made of heavy concrete (2201…2500 kg/m3);
- precast products made of semi-heavy concrete (1701…2200 kg/m3);
- precast products made of light concrete (1000…1700 kg/m3);
- precast products made of extra-light concrete (below 1000 kg/m3);

2.5.2 The above mentioned classification is in accordance with the prescriptions from STAS 3622-61.

2.6 Classification by the nature of the aggregates used in concrete production

Considering the aggregates used in concrete production, precast concrete products are classified as follows:
- precast concrete products made of natural aggregates;
- precast concrete products made of artificial aggregates;

2.7 Classification by the concrete compacting procedure

Considering the procedure used for concrete compacting, precast concrete products are classified as follows:
- vibrated precast concrete products;
- centrifugal precast concrete products;
- vibro-pressed precast concrete products;
- vibro-laminated precast concrete products;
- vacuumed precast concrete products;
- air-placed precast concrete products.

2.8 Classification by the concrete stiffening process

Considering the procedure used in accelerating concrete stiffening, precast concrete products are classified as
follows:
- precast concrete products executed by means of free stiffening, with or without admixtures;
- precast concrete products thermally treated with live steam, warm water, hot air, warming form work,
warming bottom, electric heating through reinforcements.

3 TERMINOLOGY
