DEMOCRATIC FORM
OF GOVERMENT

AB-1B Orquesta, Kenisha Kendra O.

The world democracy comes from the Greek word

"demos" meaning people, and "kratos" meaning
power; so democracy means "power" of the
people".

Democracy allows ordinary people to have a say in

what the goverment does. It allows people to decide
how their country and community should be run. It's
a chance to hear other peoples opinion on the
election and it is important that people's voices can
be heard.
Australia is a representative democracy where
voters elect candidates to carry out the business
of government on their behalf. All Australian
citizens over the age of 18 must vote in elections.

Australia has a mixed system of government;

it is a representative democracy and a
constitutional monarchy . It is also a
federation of states.
In a democracy, citizens have the
authority to take part in decision-making
processes like voting in elections. Every
democracy is distinct and functions
differently. Australia is a "representative
democracy," meaning that residents elect
representatives to act on their behalf.
