Absolute distance: The physical separation between two points on earth surface distance that can be

measured with the standard unit of EX: a mile, kilometer, feet

Relative distance: Is a measure of the social, cultural, and economic relatedness or connectivity between
two places- How connected or disconnected they are despite their absolute distance from each other

Absolute direction: Directions are relative to a fixed frame or a reference and always point in the same
direction regardless of your location example a compass East/West/North/south

Relative direction: left, right, forward, backward, up, down, directions are based on people surroundings
and perception

Elevation: is the height of an area on a map distinguished from sea level represented through different
colors or textures on a map

Clustering: objects found on a map group

Dispersal: objects found on a map to be spread apart

Linear: arranged in a straight line

Circular: equally spaced from a central point forming a circle
