VISIT TO VYDEHI HOSPITAL

Day: Thursday & Friday


Date: 15th and 16th December 2022
On 15th and 16th December, 2022; the students of Healthcare Management visited Vydehi
Hospital located at Whitefield, Bangalore to explore the hospital administration of the hospital.
The mission of the hospital is “to bring healthcare of International standards within the
reach of every individual. We are committed to the achievement and maintenance of
excellence in education, research and healthcare for the benefit of humanity”.
Vydehi Hospital in Bangalore is one of India's largest super speciality hospitals with a capacity
of 1600 beds, with advanced HI-TECH equipment and facilities like MRI, CT scan, cardiac echo
machine, ultrasound equipment, Xray, mammography and digital mammography. All
diagnostic facilities are available through the central diagnostic lab and radiology departments.

Scope of services
13 medical department ,15 super speciality, 9 supportive system, Ayurveda, Rehabilitation,
school for special children.
Other super specialty departments such as Neuro, Ortho, Gastroenterology were available
round the clock in the hospital.
First, we were welcomed by Dr. Ravibabu who gave us the opportunity to explore about the
hospital. Dr. Manasa, Dr. Dedeepya and Dr.Madhuri who are the senior batch of the hospital
administration course guided us all along with the flow of the hospital and getting into the
details of functioning of each department.
The first visit was to the emergency, which is a different block of the hospital where we saw a
special entrance to the ambulance for direct entry of the patients without any hindrance.
The different Triage system divided zone wise like green zone for stable patient, the red zone
for critical patients who needs urgent attention and care, and then the yellow zone for patients
who are not in a critical stage, but needs medical care. The emergency department has 2 OT
one is minor and other is major. It also has a Trauma care unit, counselling room and
resuscitation unit.
A conversation with Sister Deepa, the head of infection control committee explained about the
measures taken by hospital to control the infection. They had a HICC committee in which they
meet regularly for the meeting about the related infection. The measures they take like frequent
handwashing, segregation waste, laundry-bedsheet pillow cover, self-vaccination.
We saw the main pharmacy which works under G health which is a hospital software.
We sincerely thank Dr. Ravibabu for providing this opportunity and learning experience. We
