First I would like to take the time out to thank you god for giving me the strength to finish this
assignment I would like to thank my parents who are always there for me and i would also like to thank
my teacher for giving me this assignment. I am also grateful for all those who have helped me with my
research and encouraged me. This project would not be possible without the financial support of my
parents. HEART OF LOVE AND GRATITUDE.
 INTERDUCTION

In this research i will be giving information about an actress, director and public speaker, she is know as
person that is full of life and energy she also host the Jamaican television show “smile Jamaica” which
begins at 6am and ends at 8:30am. This is person is none other than Dahlia Harris.
 Body of research
Dahlia Harris is a Jamaican actress that was born Spanish town Jamaica. She is the daughter of Enid
Harris retired school principal and Cyril Harris a transport worker long deceased. And four siblings which
she grew up with on st John road Spanish town of st Catherine, where crime and violence was a daily
thing. She began her career as an actress with school drama festival, while in sixth form at wolmer’s
high school for girls. she won festival queen crown in 1990 and has not slowed down since, she has been
a staple on the Jamaica stage ever since, starring in a few plays and even producing of her own. She
once said;” its a lot of work and challenges are so many but to impact on attitude lives is extremely
gratifying. I know that we can have positive impact on attitudes and values; we can influence the way we
think about ourselves as people to come together and share powerful experiences. It is a gift to be able
to make that kind of differences and i head into every project being mind of that”.

Then she wrote her first play in 2010 “the award winning judgement” she wrote that play because two
projects she had been involved fell through, and she had her economic obligations. She ended up
directing the play herself because the director she hired had other commitments. She has starred in
major Jamaican hits like: Oliver’s posse, puppy love, thicker than water, hurricane lovers, oliver and
the genie, and bay vibez. In total she appeared in 24 plays, directing six, writing five and producing
seven. She is an graduate of UWI and mona high. She has been a part of local media landscapes for more
the 24 years. Dahlia has worked in print, radio and television in various capacities, but is more popularly
know for her work as a presenter/producer host of local programs for over 20 years on television
Jamaica prime time sports , as well as co-host on the popular Jamaica morning show smile Jamaica.
 Interview
I was not able to do an interview with dahlia because of the situation with covid. But I was able to watch
YouTube and get information on dahlia and learn about her life.
