Shawn Mendes has a message for anyone struggling to accept LGBT people.

“I just say to open your eyes and open your mind,” the 19-year-old Canadian singer told
Billboard on the BBMAs red carpet Sunday.

“Let somebody be and feel and live how they want to live.”

Mendes said his close friend and songwriting partner Teddy Geiger’s transition “was
incredible to watch.” (Geiger went public last October, saying: "Love it or hate this is who I
have been for a looooong time.”)

Mendes shared: “There was a moment when, I remember, I referred to Teddy as ‘she’
without thinking – and it takes time to be able to learn that, obviously – and the way she
looked at me was [with] this intense amount of joy.

“And I swear if everybody in the world experienced one of their best friends, you know,
experiencing that, there would be no questions. People would not be questioning it. It’s just
not worth it to question it.”
Kevin Roxas Balot was born on 1991 in Matatalaib, Tarlac, Philippines. The first filipina
transgender who won and crowned as the Miss International Queen 2012 held in Pattaya,
Thailand.

And last 2012, she joined and compete 20 beautiful contestant of Miss International Queen
2012. She maybe the face which you will never forget as what Mr. Elvis Presley song to her.
She was the eye and favorite of the crowd on the said pageant. Though she wit stand and
out stand among all her competitors.

The Philippine most sexy and hot beauty transgender was serve a lot and done lots of
things which gave her a big opportunity to contribute and made as a role model to those
who get inspired by Ms. Balot.

When Ms. Balot joined the Miss International Queen 2012 in Thailand, her friends,
colleagues and family was very supportive especially her father. But when the judges
announced that she was the reigning queen of the said pageant, all her relatives, friends
and family were proud of what she reaches. Her inspiration was her family, friends and
relatives as well as her icon idol of beauty constest which is Miriam Quiambao who had a
good fight and ended as first runner-up during Miss Universe 1999.

Miss International Queen is an annual beauty pageant which aired live on Thai Television.
It is considered as the Miss Universe-counterpart for transgenders or transsexuals
organized by the Tiffany Show and Piton Communications.
Monique Wilson

One of the country’s foremost theater actresses, Monique Wilson is a name that is instantly
familiar to Filipino theater fans. At the tender age of 18, Monique left the University of the
Philippines when she was handpicked by Cameron Mackintosh himself to play the lead role
of Kim in the original London production of Miss Saigon.

She went back to Manila to found the New Voice Company theater group, which aims to
present socially conscious pieces to its audience, and is currently one of the leading theater
groups in Asia. Monique is also a director of One Billion Rising, a global movement to end
violence against women. She is also the Director of International Affairs of the Gabriela
Women’s Party. And if that isn't enough, Monique is the international spokesperson of the
Purple Rose Campaign, a campaign to end the trafficking of Filipino women and children,
and has spearheaded several campaigns aimed at empowering women.

While Monique has always been open about her sexuality, in 2012, she publicly came out as
a lesbian in support of the One Billion Rising campaign. She recently wed her partner of 17
years in London.

DeGeneres

>DeGeneres was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana. She is of French, English, German, and Irish descent. She was raised as a
Christian Scientist.

Rustom Padilla

Rustom Padilla was born on September 4, 1967 to Carlos Roy Padilla and Eva Carino and has seven siblings. He is a Filipino actor and a
model. He graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the famous St. Louis University I Baguio City and furthers his studies
at UCLA where he took a course in Filmmaking. He used to be married with Carmina Villaroel, which is also an actress in her own right.
After being husband and wife for several months, they filed an annulment to end their marriage. Their annulment was granted in June
2002 and Carmina has since then moved on and had a family of her own. Rustom on the other hand went to take a break in the United
States of America wherein he stayed for a while to reassess himself.

Upon return to the Philippines, he decided to join a reality search show ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition” of the ABS CBN
productions. Eventually, he made a revelation that shocked the Philippine entertainment industry. He confessed being a gay to Keana
Reeves, a fellow housemate. On the 45th day, Rustom chose for a voluntary exit and left the Big Brother’s house. His family and
brother Robin Padilla doesn’t approve of Rustom being a gay.

Once again Rustom went to the United States. He went home in the year 2009 and admitted being a transsexual and changed his name
to BB Gandanghari while contemplating to undergo a sex change surgery. And again, there were strong disagreements with his family
especially his brother Robin. The family still values the old Rustom and in their hearts, he is still Rustom.

His acting career started as a famous matinee idol, teamed with different beautiful actresses of the Philippine cinema. He made
various romantic, drama and action movies to his name and even became a regular host of ABC 5’s Wheel of Fortune. After a short
hosting career, he studied a film making course in the US. He had numerous appearances in the films “Zsazsa Zaturnah,” “Happy
Hearts,” and TV shows “La Vendetta “and “Eva Fonda.” He hosted the National Kidlat Awards in Boracay in 2009, and starred in “SRO
Cinema Serye: Rowena Joy.”

Rustom or BB Gandanghari is finally at peace with himself after the controversial revelation and admission of his sexuality. He says he
is happier and contented of himself despite the fact that his family has not accepted the real person he is yet. In time he says, they will
try to accept him because time heals all wounds.

Ricky Reyes

With a wildly successful chain of beauty salons, a resort, and a line of beauty products, it
would be hard to believe that Ricky Reyes even had a humble beginning. And yet, Mother
Ricky, as he is also called, began his career as a floor sweeper in a beauty salon before
becoming a hairdresser.

By 1973, he was able to open his first salon, and not long after, changed the beauty salon
game in the country by opening the first mall-based salon in SM North Edsa and his
business soon grew exponentially.

Despite his much earned success as an entrepreneur, he is even more amazing as a


philanthropist. He established the Ricky Reyes Learning Institute, a center that offers free
training to aspiring beauticians and also founded CHILD Haus, which temporarily offers
free lodging, transportation and medicine for sick children undergoing treatments. Ricky
has also put up ten livelihood centers in poverty-stricken areas and has run his Isang
Gunting, Isang Suklay program, a training program for housewives, out of school youths
and the like, for over thirty years.
