DAY 3 - TUESDAY

NURSERY RHYMES - Read to your child line per line in rhythm

until they can remember. Repeat rhymes every day.

PUSSY CAT, PUSSY CAT

Pussy cat, pussy cat

Where have you been?

I have been to London to visit the queen.

Pussy cat, pussy cat

What did you do there?

I frightened a little mouse under the chair.

Pussy cat, pussy cat

You’re back here at home.

Are you hungry to eat your favourite dish?

Pussy cat, pussy cat

What do you have to say?

I have eaten so much I have nothing to say!

DAY 3 - TUESDAY

COLOURING EXERCISE - Print and let your child colour

DAY 3 - TUESDAY

LANGUAGE ARTS - Vocabulary building through the

concentration game
Gather some regular things at home and place these on a tray. Prepare a small hand towel
or cloth big enough to cover the tray. Here is a list of things you can gather. There
should not be more than 8 objects on the tray.
OBJECTS:
a teaspoon, a coin, a fork, a pen, an onion, a few bread crumbs
a folded tissue paper, a key

Arrange the objects on the tray. From left to right say the name of the object
three times and ask your child to repeat what you said. Then when all of the objects
have been mentioned, cover the tray with the towel. Now point to one object at a time
and ask what that object is. When all of the objects have been mentioned correctly, ask
your child to enumerate all of the objects. This is a fun and enjoyable game you can play
with the whole family. Enjoy!

teaspoon coin fork

pen onion

Bread crumbs tissue key

To do a variation, change the position of the objects on the tray or change the
objects to other small objects you can find in your home. This activity exercises their
power of concentration and focus, plus it improves their vocabulary.
DAY 3 - TUESDAY

MATHEMATICS - If you don’t have a printer, just copy this exercise

onto a piece of paper (substituting the drawings if it is too hard to draw), or use your
laptop directly and let your child answer.

Let’s count how many!

DAY 3 - TUESDAY

WRITING - Get a plate or a saucer or an oval or square dish to

trace an outline on a piece of paper. Trace the shape about 5 or 6
times as follows:

You need not follow this design. You can create your own design. Then let your child fill
up the drawn shapes with lines using different coloured pencils.

For younger children, they may colour in the shapes or use only 1 shape and either
colour in or use lines as shown on the page below.
You can experiment with different shapes together with your child and fill up the
various shapes with any drawn designs that you choose or what the child uses.
Experiment with diagonal lines, zig-zags, circles, triangles, polka dots or even dotted
paints if you have them at home using the tips of brushes or straws. Let your child’s
imagination run free with these early stages of fine motor skills development.
