IV. PROCEDURE
Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity
A. ENGAGE
1. Prayer
“Before we start may I ask Our Father/Morning Prayer.
Jennie to lead the prayer?”
2. Greetings
“Good Morning Class!”
“Good Morning Teacher”
“You may now take your seats.” “Thank you, Teacher.”
3. Energizer
[Baby Shark Dance]
4. Checking of Attendance
“Say present once you name is
called and raise your right “Present” [raised right hand]
hand.”
5. Review
“What was our lesson
“Sounds.”
yesterday?”
“Ways of producing sounds.”
“What is sound again?”
“Sound is a vibration that propagates as
an acoustic wave, through a
transmission.”
“Are you ready now for our next
“Yes.”
topic?”
“Class, what supplies electricity
in your homes?”
“Yes Lisa?” “Teacher Battery”
“Okay, what else?”
“Generator”
“Another?”
“Solar Power”
“Electric Power Station”
“Class can you identify what I
am holding?”
“Teacher, it is a Remote-Controlled toy
car.”
“How about this one?”
“Teacher, it is an electric fan.”
“Very good! And Lastly, what is
this?”
“Teacher, it is a flashlight.”
“What is the similarity of those “Teacher, it will only work using electricity
things I have showed to you?” like, battery or if it is plugged in a socket.”
“That’s right! They will only work
if we use battery or electricity.
Very Good!”
B. EXPLORE
Experiment Time:
“Have you brought all the needed “Yes, Teacher.”
materials I told you yesterday?”
“Okay. Very good. Please go to
your groups now.”
“I’m going to distribute now an
envelope to each group. Pick one
representative that will serve as
your group leader as well.”
“Each envelop contains the
procedure and guide questions for
your experiment for today.”
“I will give 15-20 minutes to finish
the experiment given. After the
allotted time you will show in front
of the class your finish experiment
and share with the whole class the
experiences you have done during
the experiment.”
C. EXPLAIN
“Choose a reporter in your group
and present your outputs.”
“Can I have 1 representative in
your group?”
“Please proceed at the table and

observation about the experiment
given.]
“Now that you have already given
your observation. It is my time now
to explain it further.”
“What you did a while ago is a
simple electric circuit. In the first
part, you learned how to make a
circuit with a battery to light up a
light bulb.”
“Batteries supplies electricity. When
they are connected properly, they
can easily power things. For
example, clock, RC toy cars,
flashlight and more.”
“Does anyone of you encountered “Yes.”
difficulty in lighting the bulb?”
“If you encountered this difficulty
the only reason is that the
connecting wire is not placed
properly.”
“In order for the electricity to start
flowing, you need a close circuit.
Electricity is caused by a tiny
particle with negative charges
which is called electrons.”
“When a circuit is complete, or
closed, electrons can flow from one
end of the battery all the way
around, through the wires, to the
other end of the battery.”
D. ELABORATE
“I think most of you now has the
idea of what our topic for today, “Yes, Teacher.”
right?”
“Okay! Very good.”
“Our topic for today is Electricity.
“Serves as energy for appliances”
Now, can someone define what
“produce current that makes
electricity means?”
appliances moves.”
“Okay. Very good!”
“Electricity is a fundamental form of
energy observable in positive and
negative forms that occurs naturally
(as in lightnings) or is produce (as
in a generator). It is express in
terms of the movement and
interaction of electrons.
“Just like what I have shown to you
before we start our experiment. I
show some appliances that needs
electricity so that they may be able
to move on their own.”
E. EVALUATE
Activity: Our Appliances at Home

objects that operate using battery,
plugged-in outlets or operate using
both battery and plugged-in outlets.

“Another?” “Removing plug of electrical
devices when not in use.”
“What else?”
“Avoid inserting other objects in
an electrical socket.”
V. AGREEMENT
Assignment:
a.) List at least five (5) electrical
equipment that can be found
in your home.
b.) Research on the different
power plants in the

Appendix A
Activity Sheet
Simple Electric Circuit
Materials:
• 10 mm red led.
• AA Battery
• 2 pcs. Black and red connecting wire
• Insulation tape or electric tape
• Electrical Pliers
Procedures:
1. Take the AA battery and attach the black connecting wire (-) to the short leg of
the led.
2. Take the red connecting wire (+) and attach it to the long leg of the led. You
can use the electrical Pliers to connect the two sides.
3. Take the AA battery then attach the red connecting wire to the negative side
of the battery.
4. Attach the black connecting wire to the positive side of the battery.
5. Now, connect the red wire from the battery to the black wire of the led. Do the
same on the other wires.
6. Observe what will happen once all wires are now completely connected with
each other.
Guide Questions:
1. What is the source of electricity in the led?
2. What is the effect of the battery?
3. What is the purpose of the connecting wires?
