WHY JINX IS AUTISTIC:

 Stimming

 Doesn’t understand expressions. (E.g: her conversation with Chuck about someone “doing a
number” on Sevika, to which she replies with “which number?”.
 Special interest in tech/mechanics and weapons, for which she shows extreme hyperfocus
(E.g: the scene where Silco is trying to get Jinx to listen to him while she is working. Also
quoting Vi “and I thought Powder could get obsessed”.) and skill for.

 Displays some childish traits/behaviors.

 Sees the world differently from her very own perspective (also due to trauma), is an out-of-
the-box thinker.

 “Gifted”, high intelligence. (E.g: deciphers how to use hextech by herself, uses very advanced
pre-planned methods for ambush and attack)

 Intense emotions, displays signs of emotional dysregulation.

 Meltdowns (shown both as Powder and Jinx, mostly due to frustration about seemingly small
things, catastrophic events and emotions)

 SHe is a SENSORY SEEKER, is constantly understimulated (not stated), which explains her
love and craving for physical affection (specifically shown w/ Silco), loud blasting music, her
overly tactile interrogation techniques and her love for battle and explosions, which offer fast-
paced stimulation. The stereotype is that autistic people are all sensory avoidant, unable to
handle bright lights and loud noises, but some cases are the exact opposite.

 Jinx being “different” seems to be a point of contention for her throughout the season. A huge
part of her character is that ever since she was a kid she's always been the odd one out. She
has trouble fitting in and belonging even with her own sister, but she wants so badly to
belong. This is a huge part of the autistic/neurodivergent experience. People don't really like
Jinx (except for Vi and Silico) and even they lose patience with her at times because she's a
lot. She's a "problem" she's a trouble-starter, she can't be controlled.

 A large portion of the neurodiverse demographic have additional diagnoses of things like
PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc. One major factor in how prevalent comorbid
diagnoses are, is that the daily trauma continues to compound until the brain has no choice but
to alter its chemistry into something to seriously pathologize. Jinx has been through multiple
traumatic events which, when compounded on top of potential neurodiversity, would explain
how her mental health got to be so irreparably far gone by the time Act II starts (even though
she wasn’t the only one dealing with the aftermath of the incident, and pretty much every
fissure folk has been through an insane amount of pain, too.)

 Personalizes her guns, talks to them, gives them personalities.

 Overactive imagination (not talking about psychosis)

 Keeps intense eye contact

 She talks to herself and inanimate objects (to process her thoughts). It could be said that this
is because she's having auditory and visual hallucinations, but the line between living in your
imagination and actually hallucinating can get blurry.

 She moves in a very neurodivergent way. She's always traveling on the balls of her feet in a
very “bouncy” way. She moves with so much chaotic energy, all over the place. Also the way
she sits is very autistic, always propping her feet up, or leaning over and hugging her knees to
her chest. She also moves her hands a lot when she talks.

 She’s impulsive.

 She likes being up high (this is something that's pretty common amongst a percentage of
autistic people).
