Electrodes are to be issued at the beginning of each shift in rod caddies. Cellulose based electrodes (E6010, E7010, E8010) and bare
wire filler metals will be issued in a closed container. Both bare wire containers and rod caddies are to be RETURNED to the rod room
4 at the completion of each shift. Low hydrogen electrodes shall be maintained at a minimum of 250°F. All returned undamaged

“gap-o-lets” are preferred in socket weld fittings. In addition to the pipe fitter, the welder is responsible for verifying that proper gap is
14 maintained. If the socket weld does not have enough of a gap (min. 1/32”) the welder will be credited with a reject weld. Also, the gap
should try to be kept to a maximum of ¼”
