SMART Goal
Our team will be researching Tesla and their desire to build a more sustainable society. We will
specifically research Tesla's impact on organizational commitment and their organizational
culture. After conducting our research and analyzing our data we will address Tesla's biggest
concerns for the future and we will provide in-depth solutions that would benefit Tesla.
Throughout the semester we will be engaging with various methods to maintain organization,
effective communication, and a successful outcome. With weekly team meetings ranging from 1-
4 hours, quick sms communication, and multiple meetings with our preceptor we will succeed in
our goal to delve deeper into Tesla and organizational commitment and culture. Our team will
consult current Tesla employees Stephen Rausch and Timothy Rausch by March 27, 2023 and
we will be inquiring about their employment with Tesla. During our interview sessions with
Stephen Rausch and Timothy Rausch we will ask them a series of 20 questions that will help us
gain a better understanding of current employee views on Tesla. With our newfound
understanding we can further understand the issues that Tesla faces with its Organizational
commitment and culture. For further research we will use five separate databases with seven
credible sources to better support our mission. With a variety of sources and information from
multiple areas we will be able to better facilitate an accurate representation of Tesla's
organizational culture and consumer perception. Our research will be completed and ready for
evaluation by Apr 5, 2023. We plan to have it ready in advance so that we can gather and receive
beneficial feedback from our preceptor to ensure that we are doing the most we can. When our
report is finalized, reviewed, and ready we will present on April 10, 2023. Each member of our
group will have enough information and knowledge to present on their own. This ability to
present alone will better our group overall and help us to be the most successful and
knowledgeable team possible. Through our practice we will be able to record our presentation to
the best of our ability and ensure the listener will be more knowledgeable following our
presentation.

Plan For Collecting Data


With Tesla being such a large and popular company, we realize that it may be difficult to get in
contact with the employees. However, we have found two current employees that are willing to
speak with us directly. We plan to meet with Stephen and Timothy Rausch, mechanical
engineers that work closely with assembling the cars. Their positions at Tesla are valuable to our
team as they can give us insight on the organizational commitment and culture inside the
company. To do this we will gather information about the organization, workplace, employees,
culture, and core values. Doing so will help us to identify any issues with the commitment levels
and culture at Tesla and allow us to address those concerns. We will provide our contacts with a
questionnaire and survey related to these specific OB issues. External research will also be
conducted by analyzing employee reviews on the commitment and culture they experience or
have experienced at Tesla. These reviews will be found on websites like glassdoor, indeed, and
ratemyemployer. Having data from both current and past employees will offer a more accurate
understanding of the employees view on organizational commitment and culture.
