Do you agree that pictures tell stories?

Usually, we take pictures now and tell stories

about them later. As the saying goes "A picture paints a thousand words." But for a picture worth
a thousand words, it must capture what needs to be captured. If not, a picture may not be worth
a single word. Read the story to know why this is so.

If Only... Memories Could Have Been Captured

It's December break. Darla is thinking out what to

do during the break. She decided to clean her
room. With the help of her older brother, Daryll,
she moved some of the things in the room. She
organized her things, discarded some old ones,
and fixed the others.

While she was moving some other books,

something fell from one of the books. These are
old pictures," Darla said with excitement. She
looked closely at the two pictures and showed
them to Daryll. "l was 6 years old in these pictures," Darla said with amusement. "And I was 10,"
her brother commented. "I remember, this was taken in Lola's backyard," Darla said. "Yes, that
was taken after our picnic at the beach," her brother added. "Oh! Yes!

I remember that well. It was one of the happiest picnics we had as a family," Darla said.
"But why are there only two pictures?" Darla asked. "I think the other pictures were not properly
taken, so Mom disposed of them," Daryl said. "1 guess the angle and quality of the shots matter
as I remember, in some pictures; the upper parts of our body were not taken while the others
were blurred,"
Daryll continued.

"I think I had a picture taken with the big Waves. It wasn't here," Darla said. "I think your
picture was unclear too, just like mine. I had my picture taken too with the big waves, but it was
blurred that I can't even recognize my face," Daryll said feeling sorry.

We could have more memories from that special event if the shot angle and picture
quality were good," Darla said with sadness.

Excellent photo shots are produced

when art processes, elements, and principles
are applied to photography.
