We are looking an ambitious individual who is interested in the area of algorithm and architecture
design for cryptography (Homomorphic encryption, post-quantum cryptography), hardware
security and artificial intelligent (deep learning). Digital Integrated Systems Labs. (Prof. Hanho Lee)
is looking for an excellent Master, combined Master-Ph.D program, and PhD students in Electronic
Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline. Depending on the student’s experience and
interests, the student will start working in one of the following research projects supported by Korea
National Research Foundation and Samsung Electronics:
- Post-quantum cryptography algorithm and architectures for Internet of Thing (IoT)
- Hardware cryptography architectures for Homomorphic Encryption
- Hardware security for either cloud or edge systems
- Hardware architecture for artificial intelligent
- FPGA-based Machine Learning, Cryptography

(1) Requirements:
The research topics require either 1) excellent programming skills and comprehension (or interest) of
digital signal processing (DSP), digital systems design, computer architectures, 2) expertise in C/C++,
Verilog HDL coding, and FPGA design.
1) English score: Official TOEIC 700, IELTS 5.5, or TOEFL IBT 80 score (minimum requirement
for application)
2) Candidates must finish his/her Bachelor or Master program (Electronic/ Electrical/
Telecommunication/ Information/ Communication Engineering) before Jan. 2021 with (equivalent) GPA
>= 75/100
3) Familiar with C/C++ and Verilog HDL
4) Experience in DSP algorithm, digital system design, FPGA design, software coding or having
publication on international conference/journal will be a plus.

(2) Benefits:
1) Selected candidates can get full tuition waive for Master and PhD periods.
2) Monthly support (Living cost) supported by government and industry research fund (Samsung)
- Monthly support: minimum 1,500,000 KRW (around $1,400) for Ph.D students and minimum
1,200,000 KRW (around $1,100) for Master students. Monthly support can be increased depending on
your performance.
3) Opportunities to attend international conferences oversea paid by research fund.
