2020 PBA Philippine Cup Finals

Brangay Ginebra climbed their way to the top snatching their first Philippine Cup Championship in 13
years against Talk ‘N Text, marking a 4-point lead last December 9 at AUF Sports Arena, Pampanga.

"I only asked the Lord for an All-Filipino championship, but he gave me a bonus," Tenorio said after
bagging his fourth Finals MVP award stacking up 10 points and six assists in the title-clinching Game 5.

It was indeed a breathtaking run for all, but at the end only two teams will stand, Gin Kings with a
smooth 3-1 edge wrapped up the best-of-seven series left everyone at awe as they faced head-to-head against
Tropang Giga.

"Kind of a surreal feeling being here. Everything's different -- the celebration is different, the awarding
is different," said Gin Kings head coach Tim Cone, who won his 23rd PBA crown in the league. "It's just a very
different experience. But our guys really battled for this,” he added.

Ginebra was flaming with a massive 12-0 run behind Pringle gave the Gin Kings a 76-73 lead for good
and an alley-oop slam uncorked by Aguilar made it a 78-73 advantage with 1:56 remaining.

"I think everybody's gonna have a rivalry against Talk 'N Text,” Cone stated. “Their core is very young
with Troy, Pogoy and Enciso and Bobby Ray, who's still a second-year player,” he added saying the team has
the chance to become the dominant team over the next few years.

Tropang Giga did not give up easily with Roger Pogoy on their side who trieng to demolish Gin Kings
however, the absence of injured star players Jayson Castro and Ray Parks certainly wounded the team.

Aguilar was unstoppable being Barangay Ginebra’s playmaker during the match finishing a career-high
32 points with 9 rebounds and 2 assists alongside Stanley Pringle’s 13 points.

On the other hand, Tropang Giga had a chance with Pogoy tallying 23 points and eight rebounds, side
by side with Erram putting up 18 points and 15 rebounds and Enciso finishing with 17 and five assists.

Securing the championship did not come as easy as it looks for Barangay Ginebra as TNT started off
with more energy as they threw a 7-point lead early on.

However, Ginebra led with 38-36 during halftime not until TNT threatened to sweep off for a Game 6
after leading 73-68 with Encisco’s back-to-back triples to further stretch the series.

During the last quarter, Pringle scored the first five points for Ginebra nonetheless, TNT managed to
turn the table with an 11-0 run to take the 5-point lead.

Not making a noise through the first 3 quarters, Pringle recovered with two straight triples, with
Tenorio assisting Aguilar and Joe Devance for an 80-73 power over Tropang Giga.

A pair of free throws were brought by Tenorio that secured the 82-78 victory with confetti raining on
the court and the buzzer concluding the championship for the Ginebra.
