Read the text of Topic 10 carefully, underline or highlight the ideas that
you consider important. Use the Word tools (colors). Identify the main
ideas, and answer the following questions:

When I think back on my high school years in Bogota, I always remember my
Italian teacher. She was very strict, she was from Bucaramanga . When she came
into the classroom, we all had to stand up and say “Buongiorno signorina”, and we
couldn’t sit down until she gave us permission, the very typical in Colombia. First,
and as a routine, we had an activity in which we practiced vocabulary from the
previous class. Then, she took out some cards with new vocabulary in order to
practice pronunciation and spelling, but we were not allowed to look up the words
in the dictionary. Right after that, she always handed out some copies of activities
to “fill in the blanks” so we could practice the new words. During this activity we
could work in small groups. I used to get together to work with the same
classmates. I used to think those classes were boring. I hated them. Now I have to
thank my teacher because I can speak some Italian. I work in an international hotel
chain in Cartagena.

The main concept of the text is that a student in the Italian class felt that the
classes were boring due to the activities that the teacher gave them, but in the end
he feels grateful to the teacher because thanks to her being strict, he was able to
learn to speak some Italian and now that you are working in an international hotel
chain in Cartagena you can speak some Italian.
Stage 8: Apply the phrasal verbs in a text.

Choose 7 phrasal verbs from the exercise of Topic 10 and Topic 11, and
write a text where you use them. You have to underline these phrasal verbs
to distinguish them in the text.
In the year 2019 I traveled to the Dominican Republic i spent three months on this trip, getting to
know tourist places, such as the beach, shopping centers, we visited the largest square in the
republic called Santo Domingo, we took many photos, I liked to eat out the restaurant and enjoy
the night.

the day I went to visit the border of the Dominican Republic with Haiti, my cell phone was getting
unloaded and fortunately I had brought an external charger so I plugg in my cell phone into the
charger to take photos.

The next day I decided to take a tour of the hotel as it was quite large and I noticed something and
it was a cruise that was far away.

I decided to get as close as possible so much so that I had to go down some long stairs, to get
closer and sit down a wall and take a picture of him.

the next day I stand up to have breakfast and continue knowing more places and people.
