Introduction:
This project consist of data collection from different point of city where trash bag are placed, this report
contain data of three student and for one week of data is collected and analyzed according to given rubrics.
Furthermore, this project also involved counting of masks disposed of on daily basis among different people
to check the percentage contribution of mask upon daily trash. Here below is methodology of this project
is explained.

Methodology:
Basis theme of this project is explained in introduction and to start with project we divide it into 3 parts to
be more precise and easy to understand: below are mentioned it three parts
1. Data Collection
2. Data Summarization
3. Data Analysis

Data Collection:
For a part each group member contributed and this phase of project involve taking whole week data of trash
bag measuring it weight, volume, density etc. then on next, we have to notice how many facemask are there
in bag and how many people are using this trash bag to fill. All this data is collected by 3-group member at
different location and take reading of 7 days. Here below a screen shot of data collection of one of the
participant is shown to clear it.

Table 1: Data Collection of individual Person

Above table can easily explained that from day 1 to day 7, we note total weight of trash bag before throwing
it then we calculated its volume after that facemask are counted from trash bag and then no of people noted
for whole week. Last column is used to show total per week data. In last column we can see that total 168
mask were found in trash bag in one week. In addition, total 105 people were contributing in trash bag. In
same way, we calculated data from group member 2, 3 that is display below.

Table 1.2: Data Collection of 2nd Member

Table 1.3: Data collection of 3rd member

From all data collection of group we can say that total 613 facemask were used in whole week and total
349 people contributed in trash filling and using face mask.
Now moving to next part of data which is data summarization

Data summarization
Now we calculated the total mass of trash bag for all days for this we used formula which is W=mg
From this formula, we find “m” as all other variable are known to us. Same way we find mass of all three-
group members.
After taking the dimensions of trash bag we find its volume using an online calculator, we repeat same
process for all days in week of three-group members.
Now we find the density of trash bag as both weight and volume are known we simple divide weight by
volume to calculate its density. Now we find total mass, total volume per week.
Next, we find total number of mask used person per week. Once this table is done, we are ready for next
part, which is data analysis. Same process is repeated for all other members.

Table 2.1 Complete Data of week with all calculations

Data Analysis
Once data is calculated and its basis calculation is done for all members, we transfer this data sheet to
mainsheet to do final calculation. For this purpose we first need (total mass per person per week, total
volume per person per week, total mask, and total number of masks per person) from group members this
data is noted on one page and then its average and standard deviation is find which is shown below:
Table 3.1: Data analysis for average and stand. Devi

Next, we find unit mass of mask and unit volume of mask and find their percentage contribution in total
trash. For this purpose, we find unit mass, volume, and multiple it with total number of mask used per week.
In addition, find percentage contribution by dividing with total mass and volume per week for all members.

Table 3.2: Percentage contribution of mask in Trash

Analysis:
After Doing all calculation we plotted graph of weekly trash generation let’s take a look at below graph

Graph: Waste Generation per Day

From above graph, we can see that at day first trash collection is around 3kg and this trend sliding increase
in next day and jump to 14 kg on 3rd day. Again, lay to ground on four, 5, 6 day and jumped to sky on last
day of week. Same graph is drawn for other group members that are shown in excel file.
PIE Chart:

Graph: Pie Chart of Percentage Contribution

From above pie chart, you can easily see that the percentage contribution of reem’s trash is major on
second it is of Amna and Marium put least contribution of facemask in trash.

Result and Conclusion:

Data is collected for calculation of waste produced on daily basis of three location and then it is calculated.
Then we find how many facemask are disposed on daily basis and their percentage contribution is calculated
over total waste generation. From our data, we find that reem location is producing major contribution for
facemask trash and Mariam location casing least contribution in waste.
