What Are Circular Functions?

The ratio of the three sides of a right triangle is where you may have first encountered the sine, cosine,
and tangent of an angle. The two adjacent sides that meet to make a right angle are known as the legs,
while the third side is known as the hypotenuse. For a specific angle A, we can calculate three different
ratios.

sinA = (length of side opposite angle A) / length of hypotenuse)

cosA = (length of side adjacent to angle A) / (length of hypotenuse)

tanA = (length of side opposite angle A) / (length of side adjacent to angle A) = sinA / cosA

Right Triangle

The circular functions may be thought of as a way to extend these extremely useful mathematical
relationships to any triangle. To visualize circular functions, we first start with a unit circle, or a circle
with a radius equal to one unit of measurement.

When you say "circular functions," what do you mean?

Sine, cosine, tangent, secant, cosecant, and cotangent are all examples of trigonometric functions.
Because they can be used to characterize the coordinates inside and outside of a circle, these functions
are often referred to as circular functions.

Finding a circle function: what's the procedure?

Using the formula (r cos(x),r sin(x)), we can determine a coordinate of a circular function. The angle x is
represented here by r, the circle's radius.

In what ways do circles often function?

Sine, cosine, and tangent are the fundamental spherical functions. Each of them has a pair of opposites
—the secant, cosecant, and cotangent.

Where we use Sin Cos Tan in real life?

You can even use trig to figure out the angles the sun will shine into a building or room. Construction
workers also use sine, cosine, and tangent in this way. They need to measure the sizes of lots, roof
angles, heights of walls and widths of flooring, and even more.

How trigonometry benefits our life?

Trigonometry and its functions have an enormous number of uses in our daily life. For instance, it is used
in geography to measure the distance between landmarks, in astronomy to measure the distance of
nearby stars and also in the satellite navigation system.

What is a circular function value?

Circular functions are defined such that their domains are sets of numbers that correspond to the
measures (in radian units) of the angles of analogous trigonometric functions. The ranges of these
circular functions, like their analogous trigonometric functions, are sets of real numbers.

Why trigonometric functions are called circular functions?

Trigonometric functions are sometimes called circular functions. This is because the two fundamental
trigonometric functions – the sine and the cosine – are defined as the coordinates of a point P travelling
around on the unit circle of radius 1 . The sine and the cosine repeat their outputs at regular intervals.

Where is sine graphs used in real life?

Sine and cosine functions can be used to model many real-life scenarios – radio waves, tides, musical
tones, electrical currents.

Real Life Problem for Circular Functions

Social media addiction

Since Facebook's inception in 2004, there has been a meteoric surge in the popularity of social media
and related apps.
Almost all of us know at least one person who has a serious problem with social media. Now, more than
ever, we need to give serious thought to the issue of social media addiction, as there are few barriers to
how social media businesses may maximize their efforts to turn a profit.

Wasted hours of our lives spent searching for material rather than engaging in productive activities feed
an addiction that can never be fulfilled. While the benefits of social media outweigh the risks, it's still
crucial to be aware of the reasons why it may be so addictive.

Social media algorithms function by tailoring each users’ feed depending on his or her past activity on
the network. For example, most social media feeds do not show updates and friends’ postings in reverse
chronological order. Instead, they organize newsfeeds depending on things the user has demonstrated a
liking for seeing in the past. Algorithms acquire and process stats based on the user’s browsing, like,
commenting, and sharing history to offer news the user will most likely want to view.

Social media sites still favor the chronological sequence of postings to show users the freshest
information, but they also utilize an algorithm to focus on content that’s most important to the
individual signed on. For years, social media algorithms did not exist. Instead, platforms would offer
users the newest updates and postings from the profiles they loved and followed. With the introduction
of social media algorithms, social sites are pressuring businesses to pay for top placements.

We assume that social media algorithms function by tailoring each users’ feed depending on his or her
past activity on the network.

Statement of the problem

he problem of research concludes in resisting social media addiction and its negative consequences by
providing innovative awareness campaign to raise awareness of its risks/dangers.

Objective : The research aims to raise the awareness of social media users by the risk of its addiction
and potential negative consequences by providing a digital awareness campaign.

Significance:

 Focus on the risks/dangers and consequences of unsafe use (problematic) of social media.

 Encourage social media addicts to regain control of the safe use of social media.

 Clarifying the importance of safe and utilitarian use of social media

How to Use Basic Trig Functions

Luckily, one does not need to memorize all of these ratios to use the trigonometric functions. There is a
handy mnemonic device called SOH-CAH-TOA that can help out greatly! When it doubt, it can be
sounded out or written down to help us remember which ratios go with which function. Here's how it
works:

 SOH: Sine = Opposite / Hypotenuse

 CAH: Cosine = Adjacent / Hypotenuse

 TOA: Tangent = Opposite / Adjacent

For the ratios of the reciprocal functions, just match each to its corresponding primary function then flip
the ratio over. This proves what was mentioned earlier: deriving the reciprocal functions is really easy
once we know the primary three. The next section goes over a couple of examples where trig functions
can be used to solve real problems.
