decodable readers titled “My Family’s Pets” and “Jay’s Ranch”.***

Show the interactive math lesson 6.6. Students should be participating


during this activity. Stop the interactive lesson when you reach the
personal math trainer. *These problems in in the workbooks, but in an
order that is hard to follow along*

pg. 331 - follow the prompt at the bottom of the page. Students and
teacher should work on this problem together.

pg. 332 - use the model and draw for students to follow along, they should
trace as you go through the problem. Ask for students' participation. The
share and show should be modeled but participate as a class. Check 5&6
before allowing them to move on.
Workbook pages 363-364

pg. 333 - on your own, be sure to check students work. Go over this page
once students have finished. They may also work on pg. 334. Both pages
should be discussed before moving on to the homework.

Assign these pages, the students may work with a friend if you feel they
can handle this task. We are still trying to promote the idea of working in

Moon Phases and Patterns - When can you see the full moon?

Watch the Mystery Science video, stop and discuss where the video
prompts you to do so. Watch the activity instructions video. Be sure to
have the supplies ready to go.

Materials: Moon book printout, pencil, scissors, and pipe cleaners

Learning Target(s): Use observations of the sun, moon, and stars to


describe patterns that can be predicted.

Theme: Encouragement is uplifting and builds courage.


Slide 1: Engage - read the information on this slide to the students.
Slide 2: Inspire - Taking big moments in stride, with a little help from
friends! Read the contents of the slide then ask the “Analyze and
Connection” questions before watching the video. After watching the
video, discuss with the students what they observed while watching the
video and relating it to what they know.
Slide 3: Impact - In this together! Activity: 1. Think about a time when you
are feeling very nervous about things. 2. Discuss the ideas on the purple
and blue sticky notes to help encourage each other in hard times. (May
need to use chart paper). Purple: Let’s list some ways/strategies we can
use to calm our own or someone else’s nerves. Blue: What are some
words we can say to encourage someone? Let’s create a list.

Making Words
Lesson 77 - jacket (rhyming patterns at, ate, ake, ack).

Use the word cards for this lesson, or you may choose to use the book. Be
sure to note the order in which you give the words. Mix them up. Words
are: at, act, cat, ate, Kate, take, cake, Jake, tack, Jack, jacket

Students will get on SeeSaw and complete this activity in the slideshow.
Words should be given three times in the format of word, word in a
sentence, and word. You can check around the room, but for this lesson it
is encouraged to make the word and then move on. Students will need to
complete the sort on the last slide which identifies the “ed, ide, ive, and
ine” in the words. Have them click the green checkmark when they have
finished.

Materials: iPads (students), word cards for lesson 88 or use the Making
Words 1st Grade book.
Learning Target(s): Use rhyming patterns to help build words using at, ate,
ake, ack.

Warm-up: Students will get in a circle on the carpet and pass around Mr.
Potato Head to count from 1 to 120 (by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s). Once completed
students will return to their seats.

Show the interactive math lesson 6.7. Students should be participating


during this activity. Stop the interactive lesson when you reach the
personal math trainer. *These problems in in the workbooks, but in an
