Informing Future Decisions

All the data collected from the above surveys will be used to adjust further instructional
technology coaching sessions, specifically looking at the how to better use technology to fit the
needs of the school population. The first survey, the pre-assessment, is used to collected address
participant reactions to the coaching session. The post-assessment measures teachers’ responses
to the coaching session, which can then be used to make changes for future sessions. Both
assessments will be used to determine teacher understanding, and if teachers are still hesitant,
then the information will be used to adjust future sessions prior to implementing in the
classroom.
The data collected from the Level 3 survey will help administration determine how
teachers feel about the support being provided for technology implementation. Based on the
scores, administration may need to make some changes by providing resources, addressing
problems head-on, making a presence to assist, and share successes with the staff. By providing
the tools necessary to show improvement, teachers will feel as though their investment of time in
these coaching sessions has paid off and the material learned is beneficial for students.
The information from Level 4 will be used to determine teachers’ comfort level with
using the new skills and technology within the classroom. If teachers are demonstrating
confusion or running into problems, additional coaching may be needed. If no problems are
reported, teachers will still be asked to provide a sample or photo for use within the classroom.
However, if teachers report no problems and are unable to provide a sample or photo, additional
coaching may be needed.
In conclusion, the data collected from the Level 5 surveys will help to determine teacher
and student attitudes of the technology use, and how the technology has impacted performance
and attitudes. If the student scores, test scores, and student skills are showing little improvement,
additional coaching may be needed to increase student engagement and confidence, and the
instructional coach may need to dig deeper to find ways to address the concerns and pass the
information along to staff once confident.
