Course Description Commercial Banking is a comprehensive study of commercial banks and


their role in the economy. The course emphasizes the practical application
of business and economic principles as they relate to bank management
and regulatory policy.

Objectives The course commercial banking introduces the banking concepts, varied
retail and wholesale products and fund and fee-based services offered by
banks. It is designed to familiarise on management of asset-liability of
banks and enhance knowledge on credit appraisal and the recovery
mechanism adopted by banks.
Course Outcomes CLO1: Explain various banking concepts, retail cum wholesale products and
services offered by banks.
CLO2: Compile the credit appraisal techniques and recovery techniques
adopted by banks.
CLO3: Interpret the asset liability management of selected banks and
modern banking services
