Special Activity Report

For the month of March 2023

Name of Center: Gabay Kinabukasan Child Development Center

Specific Activity: _Basic Counselling for Family and Children

Objective of the Activity:

To provide reliable assistance, sustainable maintenance, and competent guidance for all the
workers and staff that are potential to offer counseling as part of the service in the child development
center. Thus, the learned knowledge and skill will somehow strengthen and cultivate the being of
children for the glory and name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Descriptive Narrative of the Activity:

The training of Basic Counseling For Family and Children is an opportunity for additional
knowledge and skills for all the potential workers that can provide beneficial talks with sponsored
children. It somehow reminds the main purpose of every worker as an individual being called for the
ministry of Chirst, in which words that assist, maintain, and guide may influence the meaning of life.
The activity is not just intended to provide deeper understanding but to also encourage all the
workers to practice, and elevate the ways that will always be anchored to the best interest of others.
In which, everyone will be able to function accordingly.

Preparation:

It seems to be started with a prayer of what are some necessary needs that will benefit both
the workers and the sponsors, in which training for counseling appears to be chosen as something to
know better. The center heads agreed to invite a speaker that is somehow inclined and has an in-
depth understanding of counseling, and Ms. Sweet Rafinian, a former staff of AMG Bahay Silungan,
who humbly served the ministry as in-house Psychometrician was invited regarding the said
counseling training as a qualified practitioner with some counseling skills and experiences. A positive
response was received, and further details like schedule, and venue were discussed well with all the
center heads of Pagabay ni Jesus Cluster. Moreover, it will be held at Alfonso, Cavite, on March 13-14,
2023.

Actual Implementation:

The training was conducted last March 13-14, 2023 at Alfonso, Cavite. It appears to be an
overnight training of all the workers from Pagabay ni Jesus Cluster. The center heads together with
center staff and workers arrived at the venue safe and secure in the afternoon, to have some
fellowship and preparation for the training. After the arrival of all and the speaker, the dinner was
served, and training started. The objectives were presented well by the speaker, and the sessions
went well, in which all the workers and staff are able to value the purpose, intention, and meaning of
counseling. The night training session was ended with some counseling practice, Q and As, and
awarding of token and certificate. In which, the group picture with the speaker Ms. Sweet and all the
workers wrapped the night. On the next day meeting and fellowship continued.

Results/Remarks/Problems Encountered:

The center heads and the workers participated well in the training about counseling. It seems
to be a fun-filled experience because the knowledge and skills are provided well. The training appears
to be limited in time, but the unlimited joy of gaining wisdom from something to something more is a
significant one to everyone. Thus, longer time for training is encouraged if there will be another
opportunity like this.

The tendency of knowing, accepting, and understanding the worth and value of some words can break
or build someone that is something in relation to the role and responsibility of workers something to
cultivate and strengthen. The gained knowledge is not intended to stay as it is but to practice it well
for the glory and honor of the Lord.

Evaluation:

The training seems superb, and highly favored because a guest speaker is indeed anointed
with the profession and passion regarding counseling. The shared experiences, knowledge, and
practices appear to encourage all the workers to do purposeful conversations with all the children
that need assistance, maintenance, and guidance with the help of the Lord. The workers are
challenged to engage in counseling that benefits the sponsored children for the glory of God. As the
speaker tends to say, “you cannot give what you don’t have” it is necessary not just for the workers to
offer counseling services but also for the workers will continue to depend on the Lord because He is
the Mighty Counselor.
