What topic/areas did I focus in this course? How did that go?
Human Resource Management is important because it provides a
foundation for the entire business, organization, or department. Taking up this
course had led me to focus on our report which was, The Internal Structure of
Human Resource Management. Concentrating on this topic gave me an in-depth
knowledge about the different structures governing the Human Resource
Management Department. This helped me understand on which department is
responsible on different problems and concerns that an employee could have.
This course has taught me how vital Human Resource Management is in
an organization / company. There are different departments that work together
to make sure that the employees have everything they need to do their jobs, and
that includes keeping them safe, healthy, and happy. Without HR, you wouldn't
have a team of loyal employees who are eager to help you achieve your goals.
These departments have different roles and responsibilities to keep the
company moving. The recruiting staff focus on finding the right candidates for
each job opening. Training & Development staff aren't just about ensuring new
hires have the skills needed for their jobs—they're also about ensuring existing
employees stay up to date with changes in industry standards or new technology
trends so they don't lose out on opportunities because they didn't get trained
properly when first hired into office. Compensation and benefit administration
deals with all aspects of compensation plans such as salary increases, bonuses,
benefits like health insurance etc. Health & Safety Department ensures that all
employees are safe while on the job site or during travel from one job site to
another or from home base to work sites throughout various work locations
depending upon where you operate. Another role that HR plays is that it helps
companies to have good relationships with their employees so that they feel
comfortable working for that company again in the future which is the role of the
Employee and Relations staff.
These different departments work hand in hand to create a harmonious,
active, healthy, and productive organization to provide the best service that they
could offer.
What topic/areas could I improve on (in line with my work)?
Teachers in the Philippines are under intense pressure to perform. As
educators, we are expected to be almost perfect role models for our students,
but we also need to be able to handle the stress of being a teacher. Training and
Development is one of the topics that caught my attention in this course. This is
one of the essential things that we, as teachers need.
The current trends in teaching are changing rapidly which makes
teaching more competitive than ever before, and teachers must be able to keep
up with the latest trends in education. Teachers have become more specialized
and less able to adapt to new demands.
There are three things that I as a teacher need to be able to cope up with
that would help me become a better educator. First is, adapt quickly when new
requirements are placed upon them by their school district or national
department of education. Second, Have a deep understanding of their students'
needs, both academically and emotionally. Lastly, we need to be able to
communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's
academic performance.
To cope up with these, training and development of teachers is
considered as a necessity because it helps us expand our skills which will help
deliver better results at school level and make sure that students learn more
effectively through effective teaching methodologies like using technology in
classrooms or using music during recess time for example. We need training
and development programs that will help us keep up with these challenges so
we can continue teaching successfully for years to come.
What
Ko were my strengths in this course? What did I do well?

Learning is a natural process which enables individuals to grow and

develop. It is like a person's physical health- both are dependent on the
absorption of new ideas and the implementation of those ideas into daily life.
One can become even smarter by learning new things and adding to existing
knowledge. Additionally, by sharing what I know, I can help other people learn
and develop. In this way, it is in my best interest that we can help each other
reach our goals by teaching, learning, and developing.
While learning is an integral part of teaching, many educators have
difficulty sharing their abilities with others- primarily because they are afraid
others will not understand or will not be able to apply what they know into
their lives or how others would take their shared ideas. By imparting what you
know, - you are helping others learn new things and improve their lives. It
could motivate other people since they know that you have helped improve
your life by applying what you have learned.
My strengths in this course are being able to share my own experiences
and knowledge and being able to learn new ones through listening from other
people’s experiences. Through this, I can apply what I learned at work by
using new information and improving my attitude at work. Being a teacher for
me is like being a flowering plant---You could only bloom by absorbing
nutrients, sunlight, water, and CO2 around you.
What did I find is the challenge?

Before entering the Department of Education, I have been a private

pre-school teacher for about 6 years. During that time, I was able to take
up my Master’s Degree in Special Education but eventually stopped and
gained 30 units. When I started my career as a public-school teacher,
professional development was not an area of focus for me because of too
much workload and responsibilities both at home and at work.
I am now working on my master’s degree, and I have come to
understand the importance of professional development. Being effective in
this role and ensuring that my teaching is at its best, I feel it is essential to
learn new things and cope up with the trends in education. There were a lot
of hesitations and self-doubt before enrolling myself in this course. Ever
since I was in high school, I have atelophobia or an obsessive fear of
imperfection. This led me to beat myself up when I miss deadlines or not
being able to do well on certain tasks. Adding up to this is me being
diagnosed last year with anxiety and depression disorder. This is one of the
main reasons why I had hesitations in taking up my master’s degree.
I know that having anxiety and depression disorder could hinder my
performance since being a student again could change my daily routine and
coping mechanism in my field of teaching. I have found it challenging to
keep up with all the requirements, especially since there is so much coming
from all sides. This has been an issue of mine since the first semester. I
sometimes get panic attacks when I see deadlines and even by just thinking
about it. Submitting to professional and medical assistance helps me to
cope with it. My therapist advised me not to be too hard on myself and to
forgive myself for not being able to submit on deadlines.
To reduce stress and triggers, I find time to know what to prioritize
and to take things at my own phase. I know that this must not go on and
right now, I am trying my best to deal with it. Keeping up with all the
requirements at the top of my list.
Professional development is one of the most important aspects of any
educator's job. It is crucial that we remain on top of our game if we want to
continue delivering the best possible education to our students. There could
be hurdles along the way, but I need to pull myself together and keep on
walking towards my goal!
