The above PID depicts a Chemical Reactor with a feedwater and temperature
control system. The feedwater control system regulates the flowrate of water pumped into
the reactor vessel and generates a control signal that can be used to control the startup
flow control valves. Moreover, the temperature control system ensures that the chemical
solution inside the reactor vessel is kept at a constant temperature by measuring the
temperature of the reactor vessel and throttling steam from a boiler to the steam jacket
as needed to add heat.
