MY GRADE 11 JOURNEY

On July 18, 2022, with excitement and nervousness, I stepped foot on

the halls of Bohol Wisdom School. After 10 years at Holy Name University, I
never thought that an unplanned and last minute decision of switching to a
new environment would be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I
weighed out the pros and cons of transferring to a different school where I
knew no one. It was scary at first but I’m glad I made the right move. By some
miracle, I ended up in a section called Prudence with originally 13 boys and 19
girls. My grade 11 journey hasn’t officially ended yet, but what I can say is being
in this section was by far the best part of my school year.

I could try and recall every memory I have of my stay in Bohol

Wisdom School, but it would take too long for me to explain each one. Being
a transferee, I had to adjust to the school’s system along with my batchmates
from HNU who also transferred to BWS. Fortunately, the school made it so
much easier for me to learn their ways.

I’m not one to be involved in dramas. It has only been one academic
year and I went through so much already. I mostly have my closest friends
Gretch, David, Sam, Justine and Daniel to thank for being part of most of
everything I went throught this year. Being with my friends taught me to take
risks instead of playing it safe all the time. I was never really the type to get
into romantic relationships until after college but the world had other plans
for me. I had my first love, who in turn also gave me my first heartbreak and if
I were asked to turn back time and choose whether change how things
would’ve went or not, I’d do it all over again. We’re still good friends of course
and I’m thankful for the time we spent together.

Additionally, this school was know to be competent when it comes to

academic performance. It took me a long time to readjust and remake a
system for me that worked with BWS’ system as well. I though the first
semester was difficult but the second semester came along and it because
twice as hard. Although there were challenging times for me academically, I
have my teacher to thank for making it easier for me to understand their
lessons.

Being the competitive section we are, 11 Prudence continually took on

competition by competition and won most, if not all of them. However,
success is not without its failures. We had our ups and downs as a group.
Problems arose, issues were raised, but we pushed through and persevered
through all of it. This short essay is not enough to cover all the joy, excitement,
sadness, and pain I felt throughout the school year. I will forever be grateful
for having met these people in my lifetime. Even as we move on with our lives
and create new paths for ourselves, “One team, One goal, One prudence!” will
always be engraved in our minds and in our hearts.
