Dear CmiA supply chain partners,

Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) has launched its new online Tracking System, named the Sustainable Cotton
Tracker (SCOT).

It is mandatory for all CmiA supply chain partners to use SCOT according to the CmiA Chain of Custody
Guidelines, the SCOT User Manual and any requirements of the respective CmiA retail partner/brand.

To do’s in the SCOT system for Lidl Supply Chain partners

Vendor/ Suppliers Provide CmiA order data for SCOT and receive them in their own SCOT
account, allocate fabric/yarn purchases per retailer’s order (bulk orders
are possible), enter or acknowledge fabric/yarn purchases
Fabric Producers Enter or acknowledge fabric sales to supplier & allocate yarns to fabrics,
enter or acknowledge yarn purchases from spinning mill (or Yarn Trader/
Dye House)
Yarn Trader/ Dye Enter or acknowledge yarn purchases and yarn sales (from Spinning Mills,
Houses to Fabric Producers or Suppliers)
Spinning Mills Enter or acknowledge yarn sales to Fabric Producers or Suppliers (or Yarn
Trader/ Dye Houses), acknowledge of cotton purchases
Cotton Trader Provide cotton purchases and cotton sales
information

Make sure that spinning mills, yarn traders/dye houses and fabric producers are registered with CmiA.

registration. All business partners should be also advised to regularly enter/acknowledge transactions in the
SCOT system.
