Good evening, Suzette,

               Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this week’s discussion. I agree that every single one
of the patients dealt with their diagnosis differently. Our textbook discusses how people deal with
these disabilities and how the adjustment is a big part of their lives. Our text states that” other
studies show the best predictors of greater life satisfaction include optimism, higher levels of
perceived health and social support, and an internal locus of control” (Drench et al., 2012, p. 232). I
found this information helpful because my grandfather was a type ll diabetic. I remember all the
adjustments he had to make in his life and the patients in the video we had to watch. It was also
great to know that Mr. Cimera found a way to stay focused. Thank you for sharing!
