Referring to the video, all these patients have faced something they had to learn to live with.

They
had to learn Coping strategies which they had to adjust their life differently, such as diet
changes. They had to learn to take insulin daily and check their blood multiple times daily. The
patient with ADHD had to know what triggers him and what helps him stay focused. All of these
things they had to learn are called Constancy. Making sure they stayed on themselves to better
their lives and those around them. All of these patients need to remember the
term Discouragement versus empowerment. They will and have got discouraged like the first
gentleman who found out he had diabetes but tend not to do what the doctor told him to do
because he was discouraged. Empowerment was the woman who knew having diabetes was an
important thing to get under control since it could run in her family down the line.
Needing discipline, therapy, medications, and diet are essential for these patients.
Medication will help save their lives in the long run. Dieting is crucial for those who have diabetes
because keeping a healthy weight keeps good blood sugar. As our textbook about support groups
states,” learning how others cope can open a door to reality and pragmatic information and
strategies” (Drench et al., 2012, p. 189). They all had Uncertainty about the future since they
were all sick, but they kept going for themselves. They experience Pain But, the Experience of
health professionals is vital in their lives since we have doctors to help us with our health for a
reason, to stay alive and live a good life.
