Great post on your discussion about coping strategies from the video we watch, Jennifer!

I was
diagnosed with fibromyalgia and undiagnosed arthritis. Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder that causes
pain and tenderness throughout the body, fatigue, and trouble sleeping (USHHS, 2022, para. 1). I feel
chronic joint pain every day continuously, non-stop. My pain level depends on whether I am
exhausted or during cold weather, causing me not to sleep most nights. So I can speak from personal
experience that having a positive mindset, an excellent support system, and taking medications go a
long way for me to feel less pain. The video also touched on ADHD and type II diabetes on the
difficulty of not understanding their symptoms, struggles, and emotions. However, having trust in your
doctors helps with dealing with the changes to a semi-healthy lifestyle.
