Social Media

Hello, fellow peers, overall social media has its pros and cons in our society. I have

discussed the dangers of our privacy and the spread of false information across social media. In

addition, we have to be careful about what we post, like, and share on social media because it

can lead to various consequences that can affect our lives.

When using social media, we do not keep in mind the outcomes that we can face when

we post freely. Keep in mind that everything that you post on the internet is public for anyone to

see. Anything that we post could and will be held against us. According to Dawn Edmiston, in

his 2016 academic article published in Marketing Education Review, "The majority of recruiters

in the United States review social media activities of potential hires." In other words, recruiters

can make assumptions about us based on our social media accounts. What we post on our social

media can cost and ruin our careers and can lead to individuals missing out on opportunities.

People have lost their jobs and been reigned due to their social media activities. Recruiters keep

an eye out for provocative, inappropriate, unprofessional posts or information on our social

media. Social media can taint people's reputations.

In conclusion, I would like to thank my fellow peers and opponent for providing good

points and making a strong argument.
