SWORN STATEMENT NARRATED AND EXECUTED BY WENCISLAO CASIDSID TO RICO JOHN

MANIMTIM OF THE INVESTIGATION UNIT OF VALENCIA, PROVINCE OF NEGROS ORIENTAL THIS
07TH DAY OF FEBRUARY 2023 AT MORE OR LESS 10:00 O’CLOCK IN THE MORNING.
(The affiant’s constitutional rights were explained to him fully.)

Question: Did you come here freely and willingly to make a statement?
Answer: Yes, Sir.

Question: Are you ready to tell the truth and nothing but the truth in this investigation?
Answer: Yes, Sir.

Question: Why did you come today?

Answer: I want to give a statement regarding the shooting incident of Don Paulo Zartega Teves, the
younger brother of Mayor Edgar Teves.

Question: Do you know that anything you say here today can be used for or against you?
Answer: Yes, Sir.

Question: Do you know want to be represented by a lawyer? If you have no lawyer, we will provide a
legal counsel free of charge.
Answer: No, Sir. I do not need a lawyer.

Question: Please tell me your complete name?

Answer: I am WENCISLAO CASIDSID, 21 years old, and a resident of Valencia, Negros Oriental.

Question: What do you want to say this morning?

Answer: I saw the group of men who killed Don Paulo Teves in Barangay Calayugan and I
also heard a gunshot.

Question: How did you see this person?

Answer: I went to the vegetable store where the shooting incident happened nearby to buy some
vegetable that I am going to resell it on the public market. While I am waiting, a group of
men arrived near at the vegetable store, and I saw Don Paulo Teves with the group.

Question: What happened then?

Answer: A moment ago, I heard shot that has been fired, then I ran inside of the vegetable store. And
I took a peek then I saw the two (2) men holding a blanket and plastic bag where they put
the cadaver of the victim.

Question: Can you recognize the face of the gunmen?

Answer: No, Sir.

Question: Is there anything more you want to say?

Answer: Nothing, Sir.

JOINT AFFIDAVIT

I, RICO JOHN MANIMTIM, legal age, members of the Valencia Police Municipal Station, and
presently assigned at the Investigation Section, after having been duly sworn under oath in accordance
with law, do hereby voluntarily depose and state the following:

That, I were the investigator assigned to conduct the investigation of the case relating to the
shooting incident of Don Paulo Zartega Teves, 42 years old, a resident of Brgy. Valencia, Negros Oriental,
and the younger brother of Mayor Edgar Teves where the cadaver of the victim found at Barangay
Calayugan this Monday morning.

That, according to the statement of the witness, on 06th day of February 2023, on or about 11:00 in
the evening, while WENCISLAO CASIDSID, 21 years old, and a resident of Brgy. Valencia, Negros
Oriental, is going to the vegetable store in Brgy. Calayugan to buy some vegetable that he is going to resell
at the public market, he saw a group of men with Don Paulo Teves, the victim. Unexpectedly, he heard a
shot that has been fired and he ran quickly inside of the vegetable store. After a few minutes, he took a
peek then he saw the two(2) men holding a blanket and plastic bag where they put the cadaver of Don
Paulo Teves.

That, the Valencia Police Municipal Station conducted an investigation to determine the unidentified
suspect of the murder case and to determine their motive for killing. The group of PNP stated that Don
Paulo Teves do not have any connections with the government or politics, and he do not also have a
connections with the New People’s Army (NPA).

FURTHER AFFIANT SAYETH NAUGHT:
