Qualitative analysis
the process of qualitative analysis of the sample aims to know the
identity of one or more components of the compound. The process
of diagnosing the substance is carried out by converting it usually
with the help of other materials, which are known as (reagents) and
by means of a chemical reaction to a new compound with
.distinctive properties
These groups are the first group
this group includes the following cations: silver, Ag+, lead, Pb2+,
.+and mercury, Hg22
These chlorides are not soluble in water, except for lead chloride,
.which is soluble in hot water

Diluted hydrochloric acid-1

:Procedures

First of all we take solution of lead ion

Add 2 drop of Diluted hydrochloric acid (HCl) to a lead ion
.solution
:Calculation
.A white precipitate of silver chloride (Pbcl2) is formed
Pb++ +Cl- Pbcl2 (white ppt.)
Potassium iodide solution-2

:Procedures

Take 1mL of lead acetate solution (Pb) (acetate)2-1

.Add (2-3) drops of Potassium iodide solution (KI)-2

.Note Yellow ppt. formed

:Calculation

A bright yellow in soluble precipitate of lead (II) iodide is

.produced

Pb + 2KI → PbI2 + K2

:Discussion

The Lead acetate Pb (C₂Hs (2), reacts with Potassium iodide

causing exchange of Ion between the reactants' Leading to the
formation of Potassium acetate K(CH3Coo) and yellow precipitate
.of Lead iodide
Potassium chromate solution-3

We take the test tube from the test tube holder and take the tug
from the laboratory tools. We using a tug to take (1ml) of lead
acetate solution (Pb)

:Procedures

2 and put it in a test tube, and add (two) drops of )Acetate(

.Potassium chromate solution (K2CrO4) and mix them

:Discussion

Yellow precipitate of lead acetate solution Pb(acetate)2

is formed Pbcro4 ,

PbCro4+ 2Pb(acetate)2 Pb(acetate)2 +k2Cro4
