Hello learners, welcome to Module 7! Photography has been known as fine arts.
It plays an important role in everyone’s life. They connect us to our past, they remind us
of people, places, events, feelings and stories. The most important tool used in
photography is a camera So, what are you waiting for? START LEARNING NOW!

photography. It gave us the idea on how photos or scene were being drawn as you
consider the lines, shapes, colors, and of course emphasizing the differences using light
and dark colors to catch the eye of the viewers.
With this knowledge, you were able to learned and appreciate the beauty in
photography.

What is It

What is a camera

Camera- is an optical instrument used to record images. At their most basic,


cameras are sealed boxes with a small hole that allow light in to capture an image on a
light-sensitive surface. It has various mechanism to control how light falls onto the light-
sensitive surface.

There are different types of camera.

A. Phone camera- a mobile phone which is able to capture photographs and

often record video using one or more built-in digital cameras.

B. Point-and-shoot camera- is a still camera made for easy use. It also called a
compact camera.

So, what are the essential parts of a camera?

Battery chamber memory card

 Power button is used to turn the camera on and off.

 Shutter button is pressed to capture a picture.

 Flash-allows the taking of pictures in the low light condition

 Lens used to focus the image seen at close or far ranges.

 Battery chamber is a slot where the battery is placed.

 The memory card slot houses the removable storage card.

 The monitor screen frames the image for your picture

The parts of the camera vary from one to another. High- tech camera which
usually used by professional photographer have other parts to capture better
photos.
