What are the diseases associated with the reproductive system? 1. Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) - Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections spread from person to person during sex (vaginal, oral, or anal) or close intimate contact. 2. Gynecologic Cancer - is any cancer that starts in a woman's reproductive organs. 3. Enlarged Prostate (BPH) - It occurs when the cells of the prostate gland begin to multiply. These additional cells cause your prostate gland to swell, which squeezes the urethra and limits the flow of urine. 4. Interstitial Cystitis - is defined as a pain, pressure, or discomfort in the suprapubic or bladder area which can cause urinary frequency or the urge to urinate that has been present for at least six weeks. 5. Endometriosis - is an often painful disorder in which tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus — the endometrium — grows outside your uterus. 6. Uterine Fibroids - Uterine fibroids are noncancerous growths of the uterus that often appear during childbearing years. 7. HIV/AIDS - HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that attacks the body's immune system. If HIV is not treated, it can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). 8. Prolapsed uterus - is a condition where the internal supports of the uterus become weak over time.
