LEARNING OUTCOMES
LEARNING AND TEACHING STRATEGY
LEARNING & TEACHING METHODS
FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT STRATEGY
• The formative assessment strategy aims to prepare students for summative
assessment by clarifying, sharing and ensuring that goals are understood for learning
and the criteria for success.

• It is designed to provide students with feedback on progress and inform student

development. It can be used to identify any areas which would benefit from extra
attention on the part of the student, or extra support from the tutor.

• Formative assessments for this module will include a mini project proposal and
project timelines, as well as research skills activities and application material drafts.
Formative assessment does not contribute to the overall formal assessment for the
unit.
SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT STRATEGY
• The module is assessed by a portfolio and negotiated mini project. The portfolio will
contain a personal skills assessment, application documentation, a career plan and
an updated Personal Development Plan.

• The mini project normally takes place within an organisation and provides an
opportunity for the student to develop and apply research skills. The project should
be agreed by the work experience provider/employer, module tutor and student.
