1 Years Preventive Maintenance

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
The AC drive is equipped with the horizontal multistage centrifugal pump(s). The integrated
pump/motor unit is used for circulating drive internal cooling water in a closed loop, through the drive
parts to be cooled and through the water-to-water heat exchanger. The dissipation power of the
ACS1000 switchboard is about 2% of the rated power.

REASONS OF THE CHANGE:

1.1 The estimation for the operational time of the pump (Grundfos CHI 12-xx) is about 4
years. The problem can be caused by the failure of the shaft seal (part 7) and the
gaskets or the ball bearings (part 10).

THE RESULTING EFFECT:

1. Converter cooling water supervision functions will stop the drive immediately if the pump
is failing. In case the redundant cooling pump is used, drive will switch between the faulty
pump to the second pump, and the alarm message is given without stopping the drive
operation.
2. Increased vibration and noise due to the imbalance of the cooling pump
