¡Hola y bienvenidos! Hello and welcome! My name is

Profe Ebbitt, and I am so excited to be spending the
Coming school year with you all! In this document you will find information about our
class including expectations, policies, and content. Most of the time, if you have a
question about attendance, grading, etc., you can find it here. That being said, please
don’t hesitate to ask me any questions should you have any. You can contact me by my
email listed above. If emails are sent before 4:00pm, you can expect a response the same
day. If emails are senta after 4:00pm, I will do my best to respond as soon as possible the
following business day morning. This is going to be an amazing year! I can’t wait to see all
the things each one of you accomplishes!

Behavioral Expectations
The overall expectations of my students’ behaviors stays the same across all my classes.
Students are expected to always respect themselves, their peers, and me. This includes
expectations of:
● Not talking when someone else is talking
● Using technology only when allowed (follow the Tech Sign on the class board)
● Communicating wants and need openly, clearly, and politely. This means asking
for help when you need it!
● Staying on task and following directions
Under no circumstances will bullying be tolerated in my classroom. Kindness and
community are essential pillars of my classroom, and bullying of any kind is not
acceptable.

Grading
Grades follow the school-wide standards. The grade bands are as follows:

100 A+ 87-83 B 72-70 C- 59-0 E

93-99 A 82-80 B- 69-68 D+
92-90 A- 79-78 C+ 67-63 D
89-88 B+ 77-73 C 62-60 D-
At any time in the year, students may request to drop the grade of two formative
assessments (quiz, homework assignment, etc.) per semester. These won’t count towards
their final grade. Students are also allowed one summative assessment retake per
semester. Students are also allowed to turn in test corrections on summative
assessments to receive 50% of their missed points back.

Absent Work
For every day that a student is absent, they have two school days to make up their
absent work by either turning in their missed assignments or taking their missed
quiz/test. This work can be found on Schoology or in our class Extras filing cabinet.
Students should check Schoology and contact classmates about what they missed before
asking me. Making up for lost instructional time of new material can be arranged by
communicating with me.

Late Work
Students are permitted to turn in late work up to a week after its initial due date without
any grade penalty as long as they communicate with me. I understand that many things
outside of school can happen, so students may also request more time if needed on a
case-by-case basis. That being said, if a student consistently turns assignments in late
without explanation or signs of improvement, I will conference with the student and
their guardian(s) to help improve performance.

Academic Honesty
As declared in the school-wide policy, a student caught practicing academic misconduct
will receive a zero on their work possibly accompanied by status changes in
extracurricular activities, class failure, or expulsion. Learning a language is all about
making mistakes, so mistakes are not only allowed in this classroom but encouraged! You
do not need to cheat in this class to pass.
