Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to solicit my participation at your volunteer music teaching program in the Santa
Teresa Church at Salamanca. Since I started learning to play the guitar, I have always wanted to
teach others what I know, specially to kids, who have quicker learning skills, and can easily
develop a passion for music.
I have been reading your programs, and I will also be willing to give classes at your immigrant
integration program, as I think this program is very important in order to integrate people who
might not be able to, and I consider that music is the perfect way to achieve this objective.

I consider myself as a very sociable person, and I think the kind of people you work with are
people I could get together with, which could improve their learning.
I have been studying guitar since I was eight, and I have been studying music since I was three,
with a very efficient method called the Edgar Willems method. This method is mainly focused
on teaching young kids and is based on the principle that music is a language and should be
learned the same way a mother tongue: the child impregnates of the language of his parents,
and then imitates it and repeats it. After that, the kid starts to build sentences, and finally he
learns to read it, write it, and understand it.
I think this method will be very useful in the teaching program for kids.
