Introduction of yourself

I am 16-year-old Frency Gayle Hernandez Roxas. I'm from Tarlac City's

San Manuel. I am a grade 11 STEM student at Maliwalo National High School, and
my birthday is May 31, 2006. I am Mrs. and Mr. Roxas' fifth child. I enjoy reading
books and watching anime. I like coffee for comfort. I enjoy dancing and singing.
Why STEM? For what purpose? I didn't only choose STEM because it
relates to a course I'll be taking soon in college. I chose STEM because I am
confident that it will provide me with a wealth of knowledge and opportunities to
study about mathematics and science. I know that choosing STEM was the right
choice because I made it through our first semester, and I am thrilled to get
started our second semester. I learnt a lot of things and experienced a lot which is
not done in another strand.
Nursing is the course I favor selecting. Nursing is the perfect career for me
since it combines my love of helping those in need and my enthusiasm for
healthcare. Becoming a nurse will allow me to help many people every day, which
is something I am passionate about. I'm not sure how to express it, but I soon
envision myself as a nurse.
Week 1
 This week, despite the fact that Ma'am Pangan is our biology I teacher, I am
genuinely grateful and anxious at the same time. She introduced Disaster
Readiness and Risk Reduction (DRRR) this week after discussing the
requirements and the lessons she will cover with us in the next weeks.

Week 2
 This week, we participated in our first group activity ever. Mrs. Pangan
assigned us a task to complete as a group, but only offered us a brief period
to do it. Yet I am happy that we succeeded because we did it together. To
complete that task, we first read an article on a disaster-prone area and
answered to the questions there.

Week 3
 I had a great time during our third week in the DRRR. Our teacher began
discussing about hazards and disasters. The favorite part of the week was
our second group song we created on Typhoon Yolanda, which was a
calamity that occurred in the Philippines. We spoke about the harm Yolanda
caused to people and to environment.

Week 4
 Due to the jeepney strike, we missed class during our fourth week. However,
as we moved into our fifth week that will be the fourth, Mrs. Pangan
continued to differentiate between risks and disasters. She also covered the
topics of man-made disasters and natural disasters.

Week 5
 As we entered the fifth week, we talked about and practiced bandaging,
which will be done by the next week. Even though the bandaging
procedures are challenging, I had a good week. Mrs. Pangan instructed us on
how to do it while we practiced.

Week 6
 This week, which was our sixth, was a week from hell for me. Yet after that, I
feel very accomplished since I executed my bandaging procedures flawlessly.
I am appreciative that I had the chance to master all those skills. This week,
Mrs. Pangan, one of our best teachers, has my sincere gratitude.

Week 7
 This week, we did an activity in which we located an epicenter there. It’s
hard but then I am proud of myself because I located the 2 correct places.

WEEK 8
1. What is your winning formula?
 My winning strategy this week involved doing something
with my partner and learning something new. We
completed a dual seatwork exercise before being given an
activity to complete because Ms. Khim was out sick that
day.
2. What are you grateful for this week in our course?
 I am thankful because my partner and I did a great job,
and even though our seatwork isn't perfect, I am thankful
nonetheless because we completed it together.
3. What are the wins that you would like to celebrate this week
in our course?
 I would like to celebrate because of having a great partner.
Answering a problem in basic calculus is hard but then we
manage to answer it.
