Capstone Update #2

What I have accomplished so far

For my capstone I have finished making four items to donate to a homeless shelter of my choosing, I
have been choosing colorful yarn to make these pieces fun and enjoyable to wear for all. I have also
made sure to only make the scarves and toques with yarn that can be machine washed, I have been very
careful and have taken the time to make sure none of my creations will fall apart if put through the
wash.

What I plan to accomplish by the end of the week

By the end of this week, I hope to have completed at least two to three more scarves or toques to add
to what I will be donating at the end of my capstone, I also hope to start researching shelters and finding
one to donate to where the items will go straight to who needs them.

My needs (materials, time, space, mentor etc.)

To be successful in my goals for the week I need time to crochet these pieces with care, I also need to
check in with my mentor and show her what I have accomplished so far and get constructive criticism on
what can be improved. I would also like to go and buy more yarn to finish my project.

Challenges I encountered and how I have overcome them

Crocheting can take up a lot of time and I am finding I have very small windows of time I can dedicate to
my capstone outside of school. To overcome this challenge, I have started bringing some yarn and a
hook everywhere with me, in the car, visiting with others, or even watching a movie. I have figured out
the times where I can multitask and work on my project.
