Academy Policy

1. General

- Student must only speak in English while inside the academy during class time.

- Each class shall be composed of 50 minutes’ study time and 10 minutes’ break. Students
must come back to classes in a timely manner after scheduled breaks.

- Academy’s operating time shall be from 9 am ~ 10 pm, Monday ~ Saturday. It may open
during public holidays upon discretion of the principal.

- Students must keep silent during class hour. No loitering during class hour.

- The use of cellular phones, smart phones or any electronic gadget is not allowed during
class hour except when the teacher allowed for educational purposes.

- No smoking within the premises.

- Use of Internet and computer must be in given purpose only.

- No alcohol/gambling within the academy premises.

- Use academy’s property and facilities properly and with care.

- Examinations shall be taken every week to assess the progress of ESL student.

- No eating or drinking in the classroom. Only water is allowed inside the classroom unless
permitted by the head teacher or principal for special occasion.

- Teachers must speak only in English at all times.

- Teachers must not disclose their age, inappropriate information, SNS, college to student.
Be professional in dealing with students. Teachers are not friend of students.

- Write down homework in student’s diary

2. Academy Property
- Care must be taken to keep the school clean at all times. Litter must be disposed off in
the dustbins provided.
- Students must take care of the school property. No scratches, writings or drawings may be
made on the school furniture or walls.
- Damage done by accident must be reported to the class teacher. Students who willfully
damage school property must make good the damage done.

3. Attendance

- Academy secretary must keep log-book or similar record to track attendance of staff and
students.

- If the student is absent without prior notice or consent by the principal or homeroom
teacher, no make-up class will be given. If the notice is given with valid reason, make-up
class shall be scheduled on vacant time or Saturday.

- If the teacher or staff will be absent, he/she must give prior notice at least 3 days before
 the actual absence, notice of late and emergency situation.

- Arriving 10 minutes later than class time shall be considered tardy, 1 hour later shall be
considered half-day.

- In case of class suspension due to inclement weather, academy principal or the manager
will notify teachers whether academy will be closed or not. If there is no such notice, it is
deemed that the academy will open under same schedule.

4. Penalty

- Upon the breach of any rules stated herein, teacher or staff must immediately inform the
manager or assistant manager the details of violation.

- Separate rules will be given for penalty during camp season. (Ex – Not speaking English –
receiving penalty card)

- Teachers and staffs are highly encouraged to enforce student’s conduct and observance
of rules at all times.

5. Academic Management

ESL Students/ Camp students

- Vocabulary test shall be taken daily by the home-stay teacher in charge. Vocabulary test
must include English, Korean meaning as well as sentences. Student with overall
percentage below 85% is subject to re-take test before being allowed to dismiss.

- Comprehensive weekly test must include vocabulary, lesson learned for the week.
Student with overall percentage below 85% is subject to re-take test before being
allowed to dismiss.

- Teachers are highly encouraged to give assignments to student. Student with more than
3 times non-compliance or non-accomplishment of assignment must undergo
consultation with the manager or principal. Any non-compliance thereafter must be
notified to parents.

ACADEMICS/ Local students

- Assignments or tests may be given to students upon discretion of teacher in charge.

- Student must pay tuition in full upon enrollment.
