ACTIVITY DETAILS
1.1 RATIONALE

In support to the MATATAG Basic Education Agenda and as a sub-program under

the National Learning Recovery Program (NLRP) aimed at addressing learning loss, the
Department of Education (DepEd) is set to roll out the National Learning Camp (NLC)
during the 2022-2023 End-of-School Year (EOSY) break. With a two-fold purpose of
improving learning outcomes and supporting teachers to teach better, the NLC will run
for three to five weeks, from July 24 to August 25, 2023, with three days of teacher-
learner engagement and two days dedicated to collaborative expertise through Learning
Action Cell (LAC) sessions among teachers (DepEd, 2023, Retrieved from
https://www.deped.gov.ph/2023/07/06/deped-to-conduct-national-learning-camp-to-
enhance-learning-outcomes-support-teachers/)

The NLC is a voluntary activity for teachers and learners, is designed both to help
improve learning outcomes and support teachers so they can teach better. As such, the
School Parent – Teacher Association of GMNAS believes that as the primary partner of
the school, it is our responsibility and function to support the school in helping the
learners and making their educational experiences in GMNAS to be worthwhile.

Moreover, the SPTA believes that working together with different stakeholder can
create greater impact in the learning experiences of students who will participate in the
National Learning Camp 2023. It is in this context that the SPTA also planned to
distribute school supplies to those students, which will be a big help for them and for
their parents for the upcoming BOSY.

2.2 OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this activity are the following:
1. Support the school in the implementation of National Learning Camp;
2. Motivate the students to participate and to involve in the National Learning Camp
through reward system; and
3. Converge different stakeholders in supporting the school in the implementation of
National Learning Camp 2023.
